Part II teaser reveal? First look at snowy Batmobile explored

The long-awaited The Batman: Part II has started production, much to the celebration of The Dark Knight’s fans worldwide. Ever since The Penguin finale in 2024, fans have been wondering when the second movie will begin production. Many fans were constantly asking James Gunn about the status of the sequel as the script wasn’t complete.

Gunn famously defended Matt Reeves last year in a June 2025 Entertainment Weekly interview. When asked about the status of the sequel to The Batman:

“Listen, we’re supposed to get a script in June. I hope that happens. We feel really good about it. Matt’s excited. I talk to Matt all the time. I’m totally excited about it. So we can’t wait to read the scripts, but we haven’t read it yet, if that’s your question.”

He further continued:

“People should get off Matt’s nuts because it’s like, let the guy write the screenplay in the amount of time he needs to write it. That’s just the way it is. He doesn’t owe you something because you like his movie. I mean, you like his movie because of Matt. So let Matt do things the way he does.”

Now, The Batman: Part II first look has fans hyped for the sequel scheduled to release next year.

The Batman: Part II first look: What does it show?

Director Matt Reeves posted two images of the Batmobile. 2022’s The Batman distinguished itself from the previous Batmobiles on screen by showing a Batmobile that was less stylish. In the The Batman: Part II first look, we can see the Batmobile surrounded by snow. This has many fans theorizing that Mr. Freeze will be the villain of Part II.

However, as of now, the main villain of the sequel is still under wraps. Moreover, Reeves also told Josh Horowitz last September that the main villain of the movie will be someone who has not been done previously in Batman movies before. This means that Mr. Freeze might not be the villain. Moreover, Reeves also teased that Part II will show a new side of Bruce Wayne to the fans:

“[In] a lot of the other films, which I love, once you get past the origin tale, which we didn’t quite do, but we did something that referred to his origins, then you start telling the Rogues Gallery story and that character’s sort of arch. But I never wanted to lose [Robert Pattinson] at the center of these stories, and so that is really what we set our aim on.”

Reputed entertainment publications have already published reports stating the involvement of Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent/Two Face. However, it is unclear what this new version of Dent will be like in the sequel. It is also rumored that Scarlett Johansson is playing Harvey’s wife Gilda Dent in the movie. This has fans wondering if Reeves is adapting elements of The Long Haloween for Part II.

We may learn more in the coming months as the cameras just started rolling on the sequel. The Batman: Part II for now, is releasing on October 1, 2027.
