On General Hospital, open mic night helped turn the grand reopening of Charlie’s Pub into a grand success for its manager, Kristina Corinthos-Davis. We heard Trina Robinson perform a song, with Gio Palmieri accompanying her on his guitar. The fact Gio was playing music in public again led to some heartwarming moments between him and his birth parents, Brook Lynn and Dante. But where was Jacinda’s performance?
Paige Herschell is a talented singer with her own band
Then, Gio (Giovanni Mazza) started strumming his guitar, and … time skipped forward. The crowd at Charlie’s cheered for Jacinda. Kristina (Kate Mansi) hugged her, and her boyfriend Michael (Rory Gibson) clapped and beamed with pride.
But we never heard Jacinda sing her song. That was a disappointment to many of her fans, who know that Herschell is a talented singer in real life. Herschell is the lead singer in a music group named San Lyon. They are a quartet that plays jazz and blues and records music, performing in clubs. They just released a new album of original music in that style.
When Gio played the guitar to begin Jacinda’s number, it was in a bluesy, jazzy style similar to San Lyon’s music. While Gio was playing, the camera cut to Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) with a voiceover airing his thoughts on Josslyn (Eden McCoy) being in the WSB, which many fans felt was strange.
It’s unclear if a performance was filmed, then cut for time, or if it was a planned fakeout. The showrunners haven’t posted anything about it, and Herschell hasn’t addressed it on her social media. She did share the trailer to the next episode on her Instagram Stories.
GH fans have seen Jacinda at Charlie’s helping Kristina with the reopening, watching the friendship grow between Michael’s girlfriend and his sister. Some of them who know Herschell’s music saw the weeks of buildup to the open mic night and correctly predicted that Jacinda would show her hidden talent to support her friend.
That’s show business
Airing music on television can be complicated and expensive. There are rights fees anytime a song is played on TV. Even if Herschell had performed a song she wrote, there would probably be extra money involved.
Even with this in mind, fans took to social media to express their disappointment. Several of them shared links to San Lyon songs, hoping others would learn about Herschell’s talent. One of her bandmates is from France, and several of their songs are partially or entirely in French.
On X (formerly Twitter), the user TexasDar shared a link to a song (which you can see below) in French and said, “Wish we’d heard Jacinda aka Paige Herschell sing this @ Charlie’s! En français! #gh” The user Anna_StasiaST agreed, saying “hey #GH it would’ve been really nice if we could’ve heard Jacinda sing.”
Fellow X user abrattain was open-minded, noting “#GH I usually hate singing on soaps but Trina and Gio were amazing and I really wanted to hear Jacinda sing.” girlypop35_ agreed, saying, “I’m not one who cares for singing on soaps, but I would have actually enjoyed seeing Jacinda sing. Paige is so lovely.”
Fans hope for a future performance
Other fans were philosophical about it, noting that there was a major buildup to Trina’s (Tabyana Ali) performance in recent weeks and that open mic night had to belong to her. Her friends were convincing her to sing, and Trina’s performance turned out to be a backdrop to her father, Curtis’ (Donnell Turner), car accident.
Many fans hope the edit was just a tease to Herschell performing in the Nurses Ball someday. There has been no word yet if GH will have one in 2026.
On X, RiggiMom explained, “She actually is a singer, a very good one. They probably just wanted Trina to be the focus today….I’m sure we will see her sing in the future. Nurses Ball?”
