Here’s your recap for The Young and the Restless episode, Tuesday, July 28, 2026, as Nikki went through a horrific ordeal before celebrating a marvelous victory!
Three Blind Mice
Nikki was asleep on the sofa in the Newman ranch living room when she heard some glass breaking. She appeared very confused and afraid. Nikki noted that day and night felt the same as she was blind. She searched for her phone and attempted to activate it by phone. “Activate, activate!” she cried out in a panic.
Nikki said that this wasn’t funny if this was all someone’s idea of a joke. “If you’re trying to scare me, you should know, I don’t scare easily!” Nikki stated without much conviction.
Things Are Getting Serious
Ominous music played as Nikki grew more scared. Nikki cried out that her husband, Victor, was a very powerful man and anyone who attacked her would face Victor’s vengeance. Nikki suggested to her mystery attacker that they should look up both Victor and Nikki to see what they were up against. She dared her mystery guest to come after her!
Nikki managed to make her way to the foyer. She wondered where the door was. Nikki convinced herself that she knew the house and could find her way out. She started to count out steps. When she hit the bottom of the staircase, she sat down in frustration.
Nikki wondered if her mystery guest had taken the vase and the bracelet and then left. She hoped that was the case. Then, she heard “Three Blind Mice” playing on the piano and screamed.
Viva Le Matt Clark
Nikki wondered if Cane Ashby was in the house with her. She called out to him, asking if he was getting even with Victor and if he was playing games with her, the way he had with everyone in Nice, France, last summer.
Then, Nikki suggested Matt Clark was in the house with her. She said that it was a bad idea for Matt to move onto the ranch, and she didn’t believe in his “redemption.”
Nikki told Matt she’d pay to have him leave town. “Name your price! The silent treatment isn’t getting you anywhere,” Nikki said. She wondered if Matt wasn’t there, then who was?
She realized that she should have thought of Patty Williams right away. Who else but Patty would play the music “Three Blind Mice”? She wanted to know why Patty would go after Nikki. Was it because of her friendship with Jack? It wasn’t Nikki’s fault that Jack never loved her, and she wondered if Patty was going to sneak up on her and attack her that way.
Nikki bumped into the piano. Then, she picked up an object and threw it. Nikki attempted to count out steps and found her way to the front door. She opened it just as Victoria was coming in from the outside.
Victoria to the Rescue
Nikki was thrilled Victoria was home. She told her daughter that there was someone there with them in the house. Nikki dragged Vicki outside so they could get away from the intruder. Vicki stayed in the doorway. Victoria asked her mom to calm down. Nikki said that she heard someone break in. Vicki asked where the staff was. Nikki begged Victoria not to go back in to find the intruder.
Victoria told Nikki that she couldn’t see anyone. Vicki wondered where Joan and the staff were. Nikki asked Vicki if she thought that she was making this up. All she could hear was the sound and the glass breaking, Nikki said. Vicki thought it was odd that someone would break in and play the piano.
Vicki said it was cruel for someone to come in and play “Three Blind Mice.” Vicki looked around and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary, not even the broken glass. Nikki said she threw a paperweight and threw it at a noise. Vicki brought Nikki back inside the house against her wishes.
Nikki theorized that it was either Patty Williams or Matt Clark who was the intruder. Vicki called Victor and left him a message. Nikki didn’t want Victoria to bother her father. She was worried that Victor didn’t pick up the phone.
Vicki told her mother that Matt was in his room per his ankle monitor and that Patty was in jail. Vicki asked two guards to come to the house. Nikki insisted someone was still there. Vicki called out that anyone still dumb enough to be there would be in a world of trouble. Victoria assured her mother that she wouldn’t let anything happen to her.
Victoria turned on some lights in the living room. Nikki asked her what she’d been doing. Vicki said that she turned on some lights, but that no one was there and there was no sign of broken glass.
Nikki shared that no one said anything, but she heard “Three Blind Mice,” and whoever played it was mocking her. Nikki shot down Vicki’s theory that she’d just had a bad dream. Nikki said the intruder stole her phone. Vicki walked over to the couch and found her mom’s phone between some cushions.
Victoria reminded Nikki of when she was a little girl, and she thought someone was under her bed. She remembered her mother’s patience. Nikki felt that Vicki was being patient with her. Nikki said she wanted to see again. Victoria promised her mother that she’d regain her vision. Nikki said that it might not happen.
Nikki said that she was a mess as she imagined all these enemies who’d broken into the house to hurt her. Nikki realized that she had to find her center. Victoria wanted to get some ice for Nikki’s hurt knee, but she didn’t want to leave her. Nikki urged her to go, telling her that she was the best daughter. Vicki said she had the best mom in the world.
Person to Person
Then, Nikki’s phone rang. She picked it up and heard “unknown caller.” Nikki called out, “Answer, answer. Activate speaker.” She said hello, but heard nothing. She covered her ears after hearing “Three Blind Mice.”
Nikki demanded to know who was calling her and wanted to know how this person got her phone number. She continued to hear “Three Blind Mice.” Nikki asked why this person couldn’t leave her alone.
Vicki came running back into the room, having heard her mom crying out. Nikki insisted that she was not dreaming. Vicki examined Nikki’s phone. She said that she’d have security do a complete sweep of the grounds. Vicki noted that calls could be traced. She suggested that Victor could take care of it.
Nikki wished that Victor were there with her now. Nikki put the ice that Vicki brought on her knee. Nikki said that she wasn’t used to feeling vulnerable. She shared that horrible, scary things go through her mind. Nikki wondered what she would have done tonight if Vicki had not shown up. Vicki said her mom would have stood tall and fought like she always has.
Vicki said that Nikki was her hero. Nikki said that she was scared. She wondered if she was losing her mind. Vicki said everything Nikki was feeling was understandable, but she believed that Nicole Reed Newman was the person who could survive and thrive.
Nikki quipped that Vicki had left out a few names, referring to her other marriages. Vicki said that she included the ones that mattered.
Nikki played the piano for a bit and realized that she’d be able to play even if her vision never returned. Victoria was irritated that no one from the staff came to Nikki’s aid, especially Joan, as she lived there. Vicki went to look around, promising to bring her a cup of tea.
Alone, Nikki heard a loud piano chord. She called out to Vicki, telling them that they were back. She picked up her phone and said, “Security! Call security!” Nikki prayed someone would answer. She became hysterical after a lamp fell over. Nikki threatened to kill her intruder if they had hurt Victoria.
Looking Through the Eyes of Love
Then, Nikki heard Victor’s voice, asking her what was wrong. Then, Nikki woke up on the sofa. Victor was there and told his wife that she’d had a bad dream. Nikki hugged Victor and recounted what had happened. Victor told Nikki that she was home and that she was safe.
Then, Nikki’s vision started to return. She saw the foyer, and then she pulled back from Victor and saw his face. “Victor, I can see you! It’s real! My vision is coming back!” she said. Nikki cried tears of relief as she hugged Victor.
