As Needy Girl Overdose episode 5 draws near, things will only grow more intense. The episode will air on Tokyo MX at 12:30 AM JST on May 2, 2026. Crunchyroll is where fans outside of Japan can watch it, and ABEMA provides a simulcast for Japanese viewers. Episode 4 felt quite different from the previous episodes because of its more general and relatable theme. But from the preview of Needy Girl Overdose episode 5, things might go back into full swing.
What Took Place in Needy Girl Overdose Episodes 1-3

KAngel had 10 million subscribers as the first episode premiered. No slow build or origin story. KAngel is at the top, and the world is reacting. Episode 1 introduced Kache, a girl stuck in a toxic relationship, and Karamazov, a three-person streaming trio fighting for KAngel’s spot at the top. The show made it clear early that everyone here is dealing with something.
The focus of the second episode was Karamazov, especially Purple Lollipop. There was a live collab between Karamazov and KAngel that got messy fast, with KAngel using what happened backstage against Lollipop on stage. Then a fan attacked the stage with a knife, and KAngel grabbed the blade with her bare hand, wiped her blood on the attacker’s shirt, and walked away without flinching. Dark KAngel also started making more noticeable appearances around this time.
“Internet Overdose,” the third episode, was where the show really took off. Throughout the whole show, Ame-chan’s past was examined. Her home life was chaotic, her mother was toxic and neglectful, and the bullying and terrible teachers at school didn’t make things any better. The fact that KAngel only ever found peace online helps to explain a lot of her identity. It was a challenging episode that completely altered people’s opinions about her.
The Events of Needy Girl Overdose‘s Fourth Episode

When Kache finally had her moment in the spotlight, it was definitely worth the wait. At the beginning of the episode, she reminisced about her school days with Michika, when Michika was just getting popular as a goth loli. From there, it moved into her run-in with Karamazov, where Purple Lollipop dropped some real talk about being honest with yourself and saying what you actually mean. The conversation clearly had an impact on Kache. It seems that she has more access to them because of her relationship with Michika.
Kache also saw a broadcast from KAngel talking about individuality in a calm but important train scene. In some way, it made sense. The main takeaway from the point of view of a streamer like KAngel was that people should not force themselves to like KAngel’s streams. All they have to do is treasure whatever it was that they felt when they saw her. And since it won’t be the same for everyone, they have an “individual self,” which is what gives them their individuality.
By the time the episode had almost ended, Kache was starting to change. In what appeared to be a fresh start, she even changed her hair from the half-black, half-white that we had known from the beginning to full white.

Then came the part fans had been waiting for. Kache decided she was done. Before leaving the cafe, she spilled champagne on the person she believed to be posting cruel comments on a public board. Back home, she smashed her boyfriend’s guitar, called him an idiot, and kicked him out. Then she cleaned her room. It might seem simple, but after everything she had gone through, seeing her take back her life was immensely satisfying.
But Kache’s story was not the only one in Needy Girl Overdose episode 4. At the conclusion of the show, KAngel completely broke down. She changed into her Dark KAngel identity after going utterly crazy about the comments people were posting on her stream. She was even shown to be stomping on her monitor’s screen. It contrasted sharply with Kache’s feeling of liberation and raised several concerns for Needy Girl Overdose episode 5.
What to Expect in Needy Girl Overdose Episode 5

Based on the preview, Needy Girl Overdose episode 5 is titled “Whatever,” and it looks like Karamazov is stepping into the spotlight. The episode will center on Karamazov’s first live performance, which is called “Crime and Punishment.” That title alone says a lot about the tone of what’s coming.
Purple Lollipop is also shown in the preview of Needy Girl Overdose episode 5, appearing uncomfortable after the performance. When she finally finds herself wandering into the night by herself, she spots a girl by herself. That girl looks a lot like Ame-chan, which would mean Dark KAngel is out there somewhere, unraveling on her own. The tension is increased by the fact that Lollipop appears to be wearing spectacles in the trailer, possibly as a disguise.
The fact that Lollipop will be the focus of Needy Girl Overdose episode 5 is not at all a bad thing, considering how much personality she has already displayed.
Conclusion
Needy Girl Overdose episode 5 seems to be going to keep things going. Lollipop might be in the midst of something much more important than a live performance following Kache’s success and KAngel’s demise. If the show keeps producing episodes of this quality, it will be an interesting season.
