NCIS: Origins Season 2 Episode 18

NCIS: Origins Season 2 is about to come to an end next week with its finale and it is a kind of bittersweet. Episode 18, Hollywood Ending, will be dropping on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, and do we think we’re going to get a major shake-up before the end of the season? Well, at least I hope we do!

Episode 17 ended with a really wild case after Doug Westmont was killed (yes, he was specifically targeted) in a car explosion, that to right outside the NCIS headquarters.

Yes, it did look like a pretty random attack at first, but the case turned into a situation that involved a literal cult leader, Abe Pruitt. We were also met with several secret affairs and a bombing plot.

Now, the finale of NCIS: Origins Season 2 will raise the stakes even more as the Camp Pendleton office will be all out to face an uncertain future.

Doug’s shocking death from Episode 17 and how the finale of NCIS: Origins Season 2 could change the future of the team

Jason had been arrested for firing a paint gun at random cars, but Doug managed to help him out and he also managed to avoid major consequences by securing community service instead.

Things then get extremely dark after the investigators realized that Doug was the intended target right from the start and that this wasn’t a random attack. The case then led them toward convicted cult leader Abe Pruitt, who was connected to an appeal Doug had been handling.

The team later found out about a few notes from a dead journalist’s investigation, and Jason helped decode them. The notes then revealed that Doug had been involved in a secret relationship with an Assistant US Attorney. Eventually, investigators connected the bombing to Linus Eckles, a man who was connected to Pruitt in prison.

Now, Episode 18 has a synopsis that reads:

“With the Camp Pendleton office in danger of being shut down, the team confronts an uncertain future.”

This synopsis very clearly hints at a change in career dynamics for the NCIS team as well as the episode, pointing towards a possible cliffhanger.
