McDonald’s Stranger Things Happy Meal features collectible toys, themed packaging and digital game: Here’s everything to know

The McDonald’s Stranger Things Happy Meal is one of the most ambitious and smart marketing campaigns in recent times. Netflix and the popular fast-food giant have announced a special Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Happy Meal campaign for all fans of the Duffer Brothers’ sci-fi universe. While the coming-of-age series ended its successful five-season run in December 2025, the Duffer Brothers have expanded their supernatural universe with a new animated series titled Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, which brings back our beloved characters from Hawkins, Indiana, for a new mystery.

The McDonald’s Stranger Things Happy Meal, set to arrive in the US on May 5 and roll out globally through spring and summer, is a limited-edition promotion mix with collectible toys, themed packaging and a unique monster-hunting game that will take you right back to Hawkins. This Netflix and McDonald’s collaboration aligns perfectly with the Duffer Brothers’ vision of nostalgia and childhood in their series. Since the fast-food giant represents a strong part of childhood, the McDonald’s Stranger Things Happy Meal is a perfect treat for seasoned fans and a smart way to rope in young audiences for the latest animated series.
