Which schools were affected
As officers moved to locate and contain the suspect, nearby schools were shifted into precautionary lockdown. Two campuses were confirmed to be part of the measure: 1) Legacy High School and 2) Northeast Career and Technical Academy, both situated near the intersection of Dorrell and Commerce. Two additional schools in the surrounding area, Ruby Duncan Elementary School and Don E. Hayden Elementary School, were also in close proximity to the police response, though officials did not confirm whether those campuses were included in the same lockdown protocol at the time.
