Labrinth claps back at Euphoria creator’s comment about the singer’s exit from Season 3

Singer-songwriter Labrinth is making his stance clear about his complicated relationship with Euphoria. After exiting the show previously, he has opened up in the past about his differences, but through an Instagram post he is making one thing crystal clear: he will not let people treat him badly.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, creator Sam Levinson was asked why Labrinth wasn’t a part of the show’s new season to which he stated,

“I don’t know. He’s an incredible collaborator and someone who really built the foundation of the sound of Euphoria.”

Responding to that, Labrinth has made a statement on social media, saying,

“People will comfortably lie in this industry and still call themselves honest people, so no cap. I decided to remove what ever [sic] music I had in it. I spoke to HBO, as far as I know we’re cool. I left because – last truth – when I work for someone, their vision is paramount to me but I don’t let people treat me like shit.”

In ways more than one, Labrinth shaped the sonic DNA of Euphoria as it became a cultural phenomenon. He won an Emmy for his work, he was the sound of Rue’s suffering, the music that made every overdose scene gut-wrenching. It’s still unclear what went down between Levinson and Labrinth, but hopefully there’s more clarity soon.

More details about Euphoria Season 3

After nearly four years of waiting, Euphoria is back and it’s bringing some major changes. The new season premieres April 12, and creator Sam Levinson is taking the characters somewhere wild: Mexico, marriages, and suburban drama.

From what we know, there’s a five-year time jump, which means everyone has aged out of high school and are now dealing with actual adult problems. Rue’s still tangled up with Laurie, her drug dealer), and is trying to pay off some serious debt south of the border which means her sobriety journey is going to be quite the mess. Cassie and Nate have gotten married and are living the suburban dream, except Cassie is drowning in social media envy and is also trying to make content online. Jules is in art school while also working as a call gitl. Maddy is working at a Hollywood talent agency doing her own side hustles, and Lexi is working as an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone.

Euphoria’s final season is all set to premiere this Sunday.
