Marshals Episode 5, titled Lost Girls, is now streaming on CBS. Created by Spencer Hudnut, famous for SEAL Team and Crossing Lines, and Taylor Sheridan, for Yellowstone and Wind River, Marshals is the spin-off of Yellowstone, focusing on the story of Kayce Dutton, who starts and joins the Marshals team after leaving the Yellowstone Ranch.
The synopsis of the episode read:
“Kayce goes rogue to track down a missing girl from Broken Rock.”
In the recent episode, the story takes a turn as the Marshals’ team takes on a new case. On the other hand, viewers also see Kayce thinking of Monica as the horse reminds him of her. As the story continues, Tate and Kayce meet a girl named Hailey who was missing for months.
This makes Kayce look deeper into the case as he tries to find other missing girls with the help of clues. By the end of the episode, they catch the actual criminals. However, to their surprise, they don’t find the girls with the criminals, which leads everyone to wonder, where are the girls?

Marshals Episode 5 recap: Monica’s mustang reminds Kayce of her
In Marshals Episode 5, Monica’s horse keeps reminding Kayce of her. At one point, Kayce decides to sell the horse to move on, as the horse won’t let others come close. Tate even injures his hand while trying to make a connection with the horse.
After hearing that Kayce wanted to sell the horse, Tate blamed him for avoiding dealing with the loss instead of moving on. They even took the horse to Wyoming. However, even after the argument with Kayce’s wish to sell the horse and Tate’s wish to bond with the horse, they ultimately couldn’t sell it as the horse attacked a buyer.
Marshals Episode 5 recap: Kayce starts an investigation on the missing girls
While in Wyoming, Kayce and Tate find a girl named Hailey who turns out to be a student from Tate’s school. However, Tate felt that something was off with her after she said that she was with her boyfriend. When Kayce mentions the information to his team, it turns out that Hailey has been missing for months from the Reservation.
Additionally, she was not the only one missing, as there were many others who had disappeared in the recent months from the Broken Rock. And while Miles tried his best, he couldn’t investigate it further because of lack of assistance.
While Kayce wanted to investigate it further, the team was given the task to safeguard the homicide suspect, Sam LaChance, waiting to be taken to Helena to testify in court. Belle, Cruz, and Calvin are given the job of guarding him, and Miles and Kayce go on to find more information on the missing girls. Thomas and Mo stop them and say officials usually label missing reservation girls as runaways.
Kayce visits Hailey’s house to meet her mother and starts finding more clues on their whereabouts, after which he finds a fishing ground location. On the other hand, Andrea also joins the team and starts finding more clues through her social media. Through the investigation, they find a profile named greeneyes44 who was in connection with Hailey and her friend Ava, who also went missing.
Andrea warns Miles and Kayce that Noah might have found his next target, and the two leave to find him.
Kayce and Miles find the criminal
In Marshals Episode 5, after much effort, Miles and Kayce finally find Noah and ask him about Ava and Hailey’s whereabouts. However, Noah was hell-bent on not telling many details about them. After hitting him multiple times, Noah decides to reveal the details and hands them to Mo.
At the remembrance ceremony of Monica, Kayce promises Tate they will bring Hailey back, and Tate says:
“If you won’t make it to the ceremony, bringing Hailey back is the best way to honor her.”
On the other hand, Gifford allows the team to help the tribal police, and they identify Kurt Bledsoe as a suspect. Upon investigation, Bledsoe is found under a new name, and Miles and Kayce track him down. Kayce soon finds Hailey, who reveals information about Ava’s death. She also gives the information about their next stop without leaving the other girls. The team tracks an RV.
Andrea links the clue to Ponderosa Truck Stops and as they go after the RV, Miles starts speeding up. Seeing this, the suspects try to run, and Cal tells him to move ahead and put down a spike strip to catch them.
Finally, they catch the criminals. However, they don’t find the girls, which leaves everyone concerned about what happened to the girls.
