Here’s what went down on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, on Beyond the Gates when news of Anita’s progress got around, Hayley got it from all sides, and Eva couldn’t believe what she unwrapped.
What happened on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, Eva ran into Ted at the country club, warning him that Leslie would soon be there. Being asked about Shanice, Ted spoke of how he’d wanted to slow things down with her; Eva assumed that Shanice likely didn’t want to compete with Nicole, who “cast a pretty perfect shadow.”
Ted then met with Andre at the atrium; after Andre got the news from Dani that Anita’s cancer recovery was more promising, he raised an eyebrow to hear Ted say that Nicole must be dancing from the news. Ted spoke of how blurting out that he loved Shanice’s mind had led to her thinking he was in love with her; he worried about giving Shanice false expectations, since his feelings hadn’t reached that level yet. Andre recalled how Dani had kept him at arm’s length because of her not being over Bill, then wondered if Ted was holding off with Shanice because of his own unresolved feelings for Nicole.
News or something

Naomi and Chelsea had gone shopping, during which they discussed how Anita’s tumor had shrunk thanks to the chemotherapy. When Chelsea smiled over Anita being happy that neither of them had inherited her BRCA gene mutation, Naomi grimaced.
Martin arrived at the Dupree mansion, hearing about how Anita still needed two rounds of the difficult chemo but would probably only require a lumpectomy after that. Anita made everyone aware that, while she was headed toward recovery, she would still need to be diligent going forward. Dani noticed when Vernon thought Anita had been on a call earlier with Tracy, not Sharon; she later privately advised her father to make sure he took care of himself.
Later, Ted accompanied Andre home, where he presented Nicole with their traditional bouquet to celebrate the birthday of their “miracle baby.” Nicole was uncomfortable initially, but accepted her ex’s gesture. Meanwhile, Andre found Dani upstairs crying; she said that she had been holding in her fear that her mother might die. Andre encouraged her to let it out now that Anita was going to live.
No new friends

Tomás and Kat got together at the country club, where he indicated he had hit a brick wall on a case. Kat realized Tomás was talking about Lynette and was surprised to learn that Bill had deduced that Hayley’s mugging was somehow staged. Warning Tomás to tread lightly so as not to further antagonize Hayley, Kat felt that the answers lay with Wesley Hammer, the man who had been arrested for Hayley’s supposed attack.
Reading Lynette’s demand for more money, Hayley went to Bill and “confessed” that she had come to realize that Lynette was playing her. When Naomi came by for a business lunch with Bill, Hayley added that she had been wrong about Lynette and had treated Tomás unfairly. Hayley got cornered when Bill invited her to join him and Naomi at the club; she remembered Naomi saying that she could still squeal about Hayley not really having had a miscarriage.
Sitting with Leslie, Eva looked lovingly at the bracelet Izaiah had given her, but Leslie scoffed that he should have gifted her with diamonds. Eva was surprised that Leslie was no longer supportive of Izaiah; Leslie had taken a dimmer view of him after her clash with Darlene. Leslie didn’t want to hear Eva’s supposition that she and Darlene had the fact that they were mama bears in common, and Eva followed by grinning that neither she nor Izaiah was going to pay attention to their naysayer mothers.
Hayley could barely sit through Bill and Naomi’s legalese over the table, and she felt worse when Dani called Bill, looking for Naomi; learning that Anita was going to be all right, Bill said “oh, baby” to his ex, which Leslie heard from her own table. Afterwards, Hayley left a tense message for Randy, demanding that he prevent her from being used as Lynette’s “personal slush fund.” Leslie approached Hayley and taunted her over Bill’s slip to Dani, and reiterated that they should be besties, since they both had men who were “dazzled by the Duprees.” Hayley gave Leslie a “hard pass” but frowned when Leslie claimed that Bill would go back to Dani once she tired of her “boy toy snack.”
I ain’t mad at cha

Having decided to leave the country club after seeing Eva and Leslie there, Kat accompanied Tomás to Uptown, where she was shocked to find Martin, Chelsea, and Naomi there for a birthday party Tomás had arranged. Kat admitted she’d been worried that the family had forgotten about her special day, but acknowledged that concern and updates about Anita took precedence.
When Eva walked in, Kat accused her of crashing her birthday, as she had done the year before. Eva volunteered to leave, telling the family she was glad Anita was on the mend. This was the first Kat had heard of it, and she was so overjoyed that she called Eva back, saying she couldn’t be mad at anyone in that moment, not even her. Eva was blown away when Kat entreated her to stay and have cake with everyone.
Beyond the Gates airs weekdays on CBS and streams on Paramount Plus.
