According to news reports, American actress and writer Jenny Mollen is facing backlash because of a social media post where she jokingly compared her eldest son to the most ‘toxic’ man she will ever date.
This happens in the midst of her divorce from the actor Jason Biggs. Mollen recalled her controversial clip from Not Skinny Not Fast podcast and explained herself for making the comment.
“The most toxic guy you will ever date is your oldest child.” which is accurate. In a video of her future visit on Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny Not Fast podcast on Tuesday, June 23, Mollen, 47, brought up her contentious social media caption. “You f***ing know that if you have a son. And I am able to define that.
Mollen noted that the tweet was a common joke she has been making about her children for years, and she added that she thinks part of the reason she got blowback was because she is no longer “attached” to a man.
She thought, “It seems like this is the joke I’ve been making forever.” “I have a dysfunctional relationship with a guy who asks me to hold my head while I throw up in the toilet.”Before going to bed, could you please give me a full body massage? Will you please add more ice to my water bottle?” I mean, this is the remedy.
Mollen posted a picture of the author lying on top of her 12-year-old son Sid while they cuddled on a bed last month. Social media users’ responses to Mollen’s message were conflicting. During the podcast session, Mollen revealed that she thinks her post went viral.
“Somebody attached my Instagram to my Facebook and Facebook is a different [demographic] of human,” said Jenny Mollen. “And I think that’s where it started to get this weird traction.”
Mollen made a joke about how her oldest son would “use and abuse” her and likened him to a “dictator.”
She said, “He’s the dictator, and I live in this autocratic regime where I have to like, thumbs up or thumbs down, off with my head if I f***ing serve you sun-butter.”
Jenny Mollen wonders if the timing of her and Biggs’ split contributed to the public’s perception that the photo of her embracing Sid was too “lascivious.”
She explained that if she “was publicly with a man” at the time, the post would have been seen differently. “I think if I made this joke a month, or two months ago it would have played differently,” she stated. “And I believe that a woman who is not in a relationship with a man somehow comes across as dangerous and a threat.”
