STRICTLY fans have slammed an “awful” Titanic musical performance as they said “It’s making my ears bleed.”
As viewers waited for the results of the Strictly dance-off they were treated to a musical medley from the cast of Titanique.
Titaníque is an Olivier Award-winning musical comedy featuring Celine Dion hits such as My Heart Will Go On and To Love You More.
However, it was clear that it wasn’t going down well with viewers at home – as they spoke out on social media.
One wrote: “Not sure this chaotic medley is doing Titanique many favours.”
Another added: “It’s making my ears bleed.”

Strictly viewers ‘sick of watching pro celebs’ as Lewis Cope gets boot
“Well, definitely won’t be booking tickets to see Titanique,” declared another.
A third said: “Still can’t get my head round a musical about hundreds of people drowning. I’ll give it a miss based on this performance.”
“This is flipping awful,” said another.
While a fourth exclaimed: “That Titanic show was an absolute DISASTER on its own! What a shower.”
“That titanic musical cannot be serious?” questioned another fan.
One fan wrote: “Why on earth would you have Titanique on Strictly Come Dancing? It is a musical parody of the Titanic. You know – where people actually died.”
“Not being rude but WTF was that!!!! People lost their lives on the Titanic! That was absolutely horrific! Not to mention disrespectful. Why can’t they think up some original new musicals!” exclaimed another.
However another viewer explained: “I can understand the upset for #titanique, however, it’s a parody of the film. in the show, they make it clear that there is a difference; the tragedy is respected, the film is not.
“And Titanic: The Musical came out in 1997. winning multiple awards, to great acclaim.”
However, that was not the only aspect of the show to shock fans – as show hunk Lewis Cope and partner Katya Jones were sensationally axed.
The Emmerdale star, 30, had performed a number of all-time great routines this series and looked nailed on to reach the final.
But he faced tough competition in Amber Davies in a shock dance-off and was eliminated from the competition.
Lewis paid a gushing tribute to his teacher Katya, saying: “It’s been incredible and will be a memory for the rest of my life, and I think’s all down to you, you’ve given me everything as a friend as a teacher.”
A tearful Katya said: “I think you have created so many moments for Strictly Come Dancing that will be in the history books, you will be remembered as the best male celebrity we ever had on the show.
“I really hope Lewis Cope will be remembered for the incredible person you are.”
