Linda Perhacs has drawn renewed public attention after her friends claimed the 82-year-old folk musician has been missing for several months, raising some queries related to her personal life such as whether or not she is married.
Despite the fact that there were many things which were still not clear about her personal life, the truth is that Linda Perhacs got married once in her life and this marriage helped her in her art.
In a 2017 interview, the Parallelograms singer mentioned how she had been married to an artist who acquainted her with great painters like Rembrandt and Vincent van Gogh.
Though she attributed her widened perspective on art to her husband, she also admitted that the marriage was not an easy one.
According to Linda Perhacs, she opted to take guitar lessons for her own artistic fulfillment at that time.
“Being married to a very highly creative artist, I began to be introduced to Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Michelangelo, Picasso, things I’d never been exposed to before. He opened me to the art world and then when the marriage became very uncomfortable to me, I said, ‘Go take some guitar lessons, Linda, have something that’s your very own.'”
She continued:
“And within just weeks or a couple of months, I got this comment from [Leonard Rosenman] in my dental office, ‘Let me hear your songs.’ I could probably only play four chords at the time.”
The marriage ultimately ended, and there is no public record indicating that Linda Perhacs remarried.
Linda Perhacs’ co-producer speaks out on her disappearance
Concerns related to her family and support network arose when, according to former manager Laurel Stearns, she was released from her care facility approximately eight months ago through her legal guardian.
Friends and collaborators of hers claim that they haven’t been able to reach out to Linda Perhacs or her legal guardian ever since.
Amid her disappearance, her co-producer Fernando Perdomo told Page Six exclusively:
“My biggest fear is that she was just dropped off on the street somewhere.”
He added that he had contacted the care facility where the 82-year-old artist was staying, but the staff told him that they could not disclose the address where Perhacs was moved.
“The only thing they could say is they don’t allow anybody to get checked out who doesn’t have a proper place to live. But that could mean anything.”
In the same conversation, Perhacs’ co-producer shared a glimpse of his friendship with the musician.
“I was the person that jumpstarted her just from a cold call email that I sent her when I first moved to LA in 2012. And it blew up and it really was amazing. It was incredible to see an organic situation where we started making music and people wanted to hear it.”
As of writing, the experimental musician remains missing.
