Is Jordan being rational…or completely over-the-top?

General Hospital’s Jordan needed to kiss her boyfriend while driving and nearly lost her life. While she is relieved to have survived the crash, her face has burns that will need surgery to fix. And Jordan is wigging out about it. But should she?

General Hospital’s Jordan has never been about looks

While it’s horrible for anyone to have burns and scars after a brutal accident, Jordan’s (Tanisha Harper) prognosis so far, does not look bad. And honestly, neither does her face. To see Jordan a complete hot mess over the prospect of having to go through countless doctor appointment to fix her face, while obsessing over how people will look at her seems completely out of character.

Jordan has never been a woman who has seemed overly concerned with how she looks. She was a cop, an undercover federal agent, and police commissioner, and Sidwell’s (undercover) assistant. That last job is where we are stuck, as Jordan was never into money either, but certainly appreciates the money she is making with Sidwell (Carlo Rota).

To hear her talk about her appearance with so much emotion just seemed off and not like Jordan at all. We get that she has just had a shock and is a naturally beautiful woman who has never had to really think about her appearance, but it was not what we would expect from Jordan.

Jordan should call Michael and Ava

In addition to Jordan’s reaction being out of character, she is on a soap and knows multiple people who have had worse burns and look fantastic now. She could always ring up Michael (Rory Gibson)and ask him for the number of that German clinic. Last year, he had burns on most of his body and nearly died. Not six months later, he was back in Port Charles, quite literally looking like a whole new man.

And then there is her old pal, Ava (Maura West), who was burned several years back and almost had plastic surgery in a Russian clinic, but ended up having the surgery performed right in Port Charles. We’re sure Ava would help and give her some advice.

Instead, we just see Jordan throwing her own personal pity party and it just doesn’t work because this is not the Jordan Ashford we know.
