Internet sounds off after Letitia James targets Game 5 tickets

Ticket issue related to San Antonio Spurs has been brought to the attention of New York State’s Attorney General Letitia James, who has publicly appealed to the organization to scrap its policy regarding out-of-state ticket holders prior to NBA Finals Game 5.

This case arose following allegations that some tickets purchased from residents outside the local area might face cancellation. The issue affected some of the fans, such as those loyal to the New York Knicks, hoping to watch the game.

Letitia James took her concerns to X/Twitter, where she has voiced her dissatisfaction with such a ticketing policy.

The Attorney General also added a touch of hometown pride while defending New York supporters caught up in the situation.

“My office is demanding the @spurs remove this policy and allow @nyknicks and anyone who can buy tickets for tonight’s game to be able to attend.”

How the internet reacted to Letitia James calling out Spurs over ticket dispute

Following Letitia James’ statement, social media lit up with various reactions, with some reactions extreme while others were in agreement.

“At this point, she needs to worry about the people that are separate wrecking New York City destroying the reputation all because they’re one game away from winning the championship. Actually, let’s be honest they was doing this in game three so yeah worry about that,” one opined.

“I don’t blame Spurs for blocking Knicks fans from buying tickets because they are very toxic and destructive,” another commented.

“SHe got no say so over there in TX man.. Just let the Spurs operate how they operate.. MSG operate how they operate,” an X user wrote.

“Demands? Who the f*** does she think she is?” one responded.

“Letitia James needs to stay in her lane!!! Why don’t she focus on NYC fans attacking innocent ppl. Geo Block is legal!!! She needs to sit down and focus on NY problems!” another tweeted.

“‘My office is demanding…’ she says. Okay… What if the Spurs say ‘no’? What power does this woman think she has in Texas? She is trying to stay relevant for a future political run,” one said.

Ticketing issues for NBA Finals Game 5 resolved

Meanwhile, the problem seems to have been sorted out since Ticketmaster made its stance clear regarding the purchasing of tickets.

In essence, the company claims that people who purchase valid tickets to NBA Finals Game 5 will get into the stadium without any trouble.

“Geographic restrictions on NBA Finals Game 5 tickets were set by the hosting team and applied at the time of purchase. If you bought your tickets on Ticketmaster, you have a valid, authenticated ticket that will get you in tonight. No tickets purchased on Ticketmaster for this game have or will be canceled.”

The announcement eased concerns among many ticket holders who had worried they might lose access to one of the biggest games of the season.

NBA Finals Game 5 is scheduled to take place on June 13.

No further changes to the ticket policy have been announced publicly.
