Surprise Drake triple album release crashes streaming platforms, sends the internet into a meltdown
Drake left his fans stunned after a surprise triple release: Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti, all dropped on the same day.
Reports say the rollout came after his “Iceman Episode 4” livestream, when he revealed the title of his new album along with a message, which read:
“All 3 albums dropping at midnight from the biggest sound.”
The 39-year-old singer revealed the album covers on his official Instagram account. While Iceman was a long-teased project, he added the other two albums as a last-minute surprise.
The surprise album releases evoked mixed reactions from the Canadian artist’s fans worldwide. Some also saw dropping three albums in a day as a historic move. They shared memes, jokes and clips to express their emotions.
A user wrote:
“Damn this man is really insane, who the hell drops three albums at once.”
Another chimed in:
“Imagine waiting two years for a deep poem about trauma while Drake just dropped 3 classics and broke the servers. Kendrick fans are officially the most delusional group in history. The king is back and your “victory” just expired.”
A third added:
“Y’all might not like it. But he’s one of the few people in this generation that can stand on the same stage as Mike.”
A fourth said:
“Drake dropped THREE albums and the entire streaming game just blue-screened like it’s 2008Bro said “y’all wanted content? Here’s the whole discography in one night.”
Someone else commented:
“Nice promotion trick dude, nobody is falling for that. My boy Kendrick knows how to put Drake in his place.”
A person noted:
“Well we know it’s not going to be quality if he releasing all this music. Just trying to get it out so he can move on from the label.”
Fans have praised Iceman as the standout, with more divided opinions on the other two albums. In 2025, the hip-hop artist released What Did I Miss?, the official lead single of his new album, Iceman.
It premiered during one of Drake’s Iceman livestream episodes and addresses the aftermath of his 2024 feud with Kendrick Lamar. It appears as the 11th track on the album.
He also released some other singles like Which One (featuring Central Cee), Somebody Loves Me Pt. 2, and Dog House (featuring July Wolf and Yeat) in 2025. Which One features as the fifth track on album Maid of Honour.
Reportedly, Iceman consists of 18 tracks, with guest appearances from Future & Molly Santana, 21 Savage, and others. Maid of Honour includes 14 tracks. It features contributions from artists like Sexyy Red, Central Cee, Stunna Sandy, Popcaan, Iconic Savvy, and more. Habibti includes 11 tracks with inputs on music from Sexyy Red, Loe Shimmy, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and others.
