I lost 100 lbs in a year without fat jabs or going to the gym

A WOMAN has opened up about how she was able to drop over 100Ibs in a year – and she did it without weight loss jabs, fad diets, or stepping foot into a gym.

31-year-old Liza Marie has completely changed her life after shedding a whopping 10 stone off her body.

The social media influencer, who found fame on TikTok by sharing her story via her page @lizamariefit, was once the “biggest girl in any room she walked in”. But, in a recent post she admitted that one day she “woke up and said I’m sick of having no waist”.

“I was desperate to feel normal,” she admitted on her page, where she has raked in over 20 million likes.

The US woman, from Pennsylvania, “never” wanted to be photographed and would hide her body under baggy clothes.  Her dramatic transformation means she is no longer shy in showing off her body.

However, while the physical aspect was somewhat important to Liza, her number one concern was changing her habits to be healthier. She has candidly shared online that being honest with yourself is the first step to making significant changes.

In a recent video, Liza shared three “harsh truths” about weight loss.

Experiencing hunger

The Pittsburgh woman shared: “Number one. You are going to be hungry and it’s going to be horrible, especially in the beginning. Think about it, if you put yourself in a calorie deficit, you are eating less food than you normally would, which is going to make you hungry.”

“You’re not going to be starving, you’re a survivor, you’re going to be healthy,” she insists.

Liza, who is now a fitness coach, said that she would occupy the times when she would usually reach for an unhealthy snack out of boredom, and find a hobby she enjoys doing instead. “As a former binge eater that has helped me so much,” she added.

Habit stacking

Liza also wants people to comprehend that there is no quick fix, nor habits that can be built overnight; it takes time.

She explained: “You did not pick up all these bad habits overnight and you are not going to lose them overnight either. Really think about it, if it was easy, you would have accomplished this already.”

The passionate young woman said that when she was struggling, she would tell herself every year that ‘this was going to be the year’ that she lost the weight, and “it never happened”. She admits she would give up and thought she had to “get everything right”.

She used a habit stacking method – building and maintaining one healthy habit before trying a new one.

For two months she committed to walking a minimum of 20 minutes per day, and later raised her daily step count to 8,000. She later began adding in home work outs and ensuring she gets to bed before 9pm and consumes a lot of water.

It can take several months of lifestyle changes

Another key element was cutting back on fast food and takeaways. The determined woman began making home cooked meals a lot more. She admitted online that she wanted to have these habits nailed before even thinking about stepping foot in a gym.

“I didn’t get to the gym until I lost 100 pounds at home following these habits,” she added.

Lisa, hoping to inspire others to feel determined to follow in her footsteps, further said: “Weight loss is not an overnight transformation, it’s a series of small decisions, individual choices made over and over.”

The NHS states: “It can take several months of making lifestyle changes and possibly using medicine before you start to see changes in your weight. There’s no single rule that applies to everyone.”

Focus on what you’re putting in

Liza advises that people who want to lose weight should focus on what they are putting into their bodies first, rather than just exercise alone.

Lisa said: “It does not matter how many days you are in the gym, it does not matter how intense your workouts are or how much you sweat in a workout, it matters what you’re consuming.”

She insists: “What matters the most is how you’re fuelling your body, what you’re fuelling your body with, the amount of protein you’re getting in every single day.

“Yes exercise has so many benefits but if you’re only focusing on the gym and not looking at what you’re making at home, how many times you’re eating out, you’re not going to see the results.”
