How old is Madonna? Details explored after Sabrina Carpenter brings out veteran songstress for Coachella headlining set

Sabrina Carpenter is a pop music sensation who is undoubtedly propelling her career to new heights after headlining both weeks at Coachella. After her Week 1 performance, many were wondering how or if the multi-talented performer would be able to outdo her inaugural headlining set at the vaunted festival.

In the latest news about the Espresso singer, her Week 2 Coachella set is now in the books and certainly did not disappoint. For one of her showstoppers, Carpenter brought out the Queen of Pop, Madonna, for a joint performance that will not soon be forgotten.

The Please, Please, Please singer and the 67-year-old diva performed a three-song medley together, including Vogue, Like A Prayer and a previously unheard record from Madonna’s upcoming album Confessions II.

After thanking Sabrina Carpenter for inviting her to perform, Madonna then took a moment to address the audience:

“I have a few things I wanna get off my chest. 20 years ago today, I performed at Coachella. I was in the dance tent, and it was the first time I performed, Confessions on the Dance Floor Part One in America. And that was such a thrill for me, so you can imagine what a thrill it is for me to be back 20 years later in the same boots, the same corset, the jacket I had on earlier, the same Gucci jacket. So, it’s like a full circle moment, very meaningful for me.”

She added:

“The other thrilling thing I need to point out to everybody right now is this probably the first time I’ve ever performed with someone who’s shorter than me. So, thank you for giving me that experience.”

The entire performance was a treat for festival goers and seemingly for both Carpenter and Madonna, who truly made pop music history with their performance.

Madonna calls for unity while on stage with Sabrina Carpenter, more

During her short collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella, Madonna also took a moment to address the current divineness and unrest in the world. Her presence seemed to be a call to action to encourage artists to help people heal through music:

“So in all circumstances for the rest of the month, let’s try to get along, okay? And to that point, the great thing about music is that it brings people together, am I right? It’s the one place that people have to put their differences aside, put their sh*t down, and just everybody has a good time together, right? So I am thrilled to be a part of that healing experience, bringing people together.”

Elsewhere in her set, Carpenter also brought out actress Geena Davis to perform a monologue. Susan Sarandon, her Thelma and Louise co-star, had the honours during Sabrina’s Week 1 show, but this time it was Davis who wowed the audience with her committed performance.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine alum Terry Crews was also on deck for Sabrina Carpenter’s set and briefly sang Vanessa Carlton’s hit song A Thousand Miles, as a nod to his unforgettable role in 2004’s comedy White Chicks.
