Kendra Wilkinson transitioned from being one of Hugh Hefner’s girlfriends on The Girls Next Door to starring in her own reality shows, Kendra and Kendra on Top. However, the reality star is now focusing on her career as a celebrity realtor. However, Wilkinson shared that being a famous realtor has not always worked well for her.
In an interview with TMZ at the Supermodels Unlimited Magazine Cover Party, Kendra Wilkinson opened up about some of the obstacles she has faced so far as a celeb realtor. She said that the baggage she had from Hollywood tends to follow her into her new workspace, but she has to make peace with it and make deals, since she is now a single mother to her two kids.
Kendra says that many people do not rush to hire a famous realtor. She explains that her celebrity status has not really helped her in this new career. While being well-known works for some people like Jason Oppenheim, it has not worked the same way for her.
Is Kendra Wilkinson interested in joining Selling Sunset?
TMZ began by asking Kendra Wilkinson how the transition from Hollywood to real estate has been for her. The former television personality said that the move from one profession to another was “insane” and “crazy,” as well as a “challenge” for her.
She said:
“So, I don’t get to just start fresh, you know. I have a baggage of reputation I’m carrying along with me. You know, I’ve been in the public light. I’ve been in the public eye for years, so all of that comes with me.”
Kendra Wilkinson added that she has been in Hollywood for almost two decades, but the new job is making her happy. She also told TMZ that being on the cover of a magazine transported her to the early 2000s.
When asked about her interest in joining Selling Sunset, Kendra responded by saying:
“To be bluntly honest with you, when it comes to doing real estate on television, I tried it. I attempted. I don’t think I like it so much. It’s an interesting feeling to do business on camera. It’s a little bit too crazy, you know.”
She elaborated on her previous experience, saying:
“When I did real estate on television, I felt bad because I didn’t know what to do. I did not know how to entertain and focus on real estate. I didn’t know how to do both at the same time. So, there was a lot of pressure on me to figure out who to be on camera. Do I become this party girl that everyone knows, like this Playboy party girl, or do I become this really stuck-up realtor?”
Kendra concluded by saying that she is “super focused” on doing real estate and not specifically real estate shows. The main purpose is doing it to feed her kids and not for the glamour.
Kendra Wilkinson has moved from television to working as a real estate agent. She says her fame does not always help her, but she is happy with her new career. Kendra is now focused on doing real work to support her children, not on being on TV.
