Matt Damon has admitted that his wife, Luciana Barroso, had a crush on his best friend, Ben Affleck.
The actor, 55, opened up about his wife’s celebrity crushes, noting that she thought Affleck was ‘the cute one’ in Good Will Hunting. During his appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show on Monday with Ben, Matt Damon said,
‘This is f****** completely true. After we’d been together for a little while, probably a few months, she admitted that – I think I met her best friend from high school, and it came out that the two of them went and saw Good Will Hunting together, and her best friend thought I was the cute one, and she thought Ben was the cute one. So she admitted to me… I’m like, ‘You got the wrong one?’ She told me that 23 years ago.’
According to The Daily Mail, Matt Damon and his now-wife met at a bar in Miami. They tied the knot in 2003, and have since welcomed four daughters: Alexia, 25, Isabella, 19, Gia, 17, and Stella, 15. She reportedly met Ben Affleck for the first time while filming his movie Stuck on You.

During his conversation with Ben Affleck and Howard Stern on the podcast, Matt Damon was asked if his wife’s comments “stay with you” over the years. However, he pointed out that the three often work together, with his wife even serving as a producer on The Rip and Ben’s next project, Animals.
‘She’s a great producer and a really good friend, and yeah, I never got that vibe from her. So I think something I did in real life rubbed it off. Finally she met him and all that went away.’
Elsewhere in the segment, Affleck admitted that he’s “been witness to a lot of beautiful, lovely things” from Matt Damon and his wife. The Batman actor, ho was previously married to Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Lopez, said:
“It’s a really gorgeous marriage and friendship and two people who, when they’re apart and independent of one another, are one another’s partner. I didn’t see the first day, but I have a feeling it’s improved.” He also joked he “should ask Lucy what her friend’s number is” to make things even.
Page Six has reported that in September 2024, Ben Affleck made headlines when he kissed Damon’s wife on her head during an outing in LA, shortly after the latter was seen holding hands with Lopez. The following summer, Affleck was seen hanging out with the couple on a dinner date.
