Justin Timberlake’s wife, Jessica Biel, is reacting to her husband’s DWI arrest body cam footage. Over the weekend, police bodycam footage showing Justin’s 2024 drink-driving arrest in Nork York was released. At the time, the singer sued the Village of Sag Harbor to prevent the release of the video, but ultimately reached a settlement to allow for the release on March 20.
In June 2024, the singer was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge after police stopped him for driving through a stop sign and veering to the wrong side of the road. Justin Timberlake ultimately pleaded guilty to a lesser charge. The footage features Justin Timberlake stumbling during the police sobriety tests, while he tried to explain that he’s on a world tour. A source close to Jessica Biel spoke to People in an exclusive article published on March 23, that Jessica Biel is
“Not happy about the renewed attention.”
The source also added,
“There’s a reason they pushed back on the footage being released.”
The source also mentioned that Jessica found the incident “stressful and would prefer to move past it.”
Jessica Biel is “supportive” of Justin Timberlake’s decision to release 2024 bodycam footage
While speaking to People in an exclusive article, a source close to Jessica Biel revealed that while the actress is supportive of her husband, Justin Timberlake’s decision of releasing the bodycam footage, she’s not entirely happy with it.
“There have been some challenging moments lately, and she’s focused on moving forward. She’s the happiest when she’s able to focus on family life, along with her work when she chooses to take on projects. She’s supportive of Justib, but she’s also not afraid to express when she’s disappointed in certain decisions. This was one of those moments.”
On March 20, more than eight hours of the body cam footage were released. The footage documented Justin’s time at the traffic stop, along with the inside of the police station.
As per the BBC, the charging document mentioned that Timberlake’s eyes were “bloodshot and glassy” and that “a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath” at the time he was pulled over. Timberlake was eventually ordered to pay a $500 fine with a $260 surcharge, along with 25 hours of community service, and to make a public safety announcement outside the court.
The singer at the time confessed to his fault and publicly urged people not to “get behind the wheel of a car” even if they’ve had only one drink.
