How did Cyndi Lauper respond to a disruptive fan during her residency show? Music icon’s crass remarks go viral

Cyndi Lauper dealt with a heckler in the middle of her first show in Las Vegas for her residency series.

The music icon premiered her residency, Cyndi Lauper: Live in Las Vegas, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday night, Apr. 25. During the interlude, while she talked about her song Sally’s Pigeons, an audience member suddenly interrupted her.

Calmly, the two-time Grammy winner responded with expletives.

“I don’t know what the f*** you’re saying, hon. But please remember where you are, OK? Because if you’re trying to shade me, b****, I’m gonna come for you.”

Cheers immediately erupted inside the venue as the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun hitmaker continued:

“I’m from Brooklyn, and if I wanna f*****g talk, I will do a tap dance if I f*****g want. Sorry, that of course is not part of my people skills.”

As if nothing had happened, Cyndi Lauper proceeded to sing.

Cyndi Lauper previously promoted her Las Vegas residency, set to run from Apr. 24, 25, 29, and May 1 and 2. She wrote on social media:

“Hey, we’re in Vegas! I can’t believe it. [There] will be a couple of surprises in the show, but you have to come and see it. Not gonna tell you. I’m excited! Anyway, come on down [because] it’ll be a night of Cyn! I’ll see you at the show.”

The Time After Time singer also made the announcement of her residency show in October following the end of her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun tour that was confirmed to USA Today in June 2024.

“It’s an arena tour, which I haven’t done in a long time. I just want to thank everybody, say goodbye, celebrate with fans that have been so loyal and sweet and were there for every crazy-*** concert or thing that I did and I’m excited about doing it. I don’t think physically in another five years I will be as good, but now I can do it, you know?”

The 23-city farewell tour marked her first major series of performances in over ten years, which was announced by LiveNation via press release. Another first for her was her forthcoming performance at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Lauper went on, teasing what fans should expect.

“I’m going to include a piece of everything … and combine art and moving visuals, use a lot of color and design. I haven’t had a fun tour since ’84, so now it will be the ’24 fun tour!”

At the time, the True Colors singer-songwriter added that a documentary covering her tour was being put out.
