Tom Hardy confirmed that his underrated thriller Taboo is finally returning with a new season. Hardy shared exciting news about his upcoming project. Created by Hardy and his father Chips Hardy, the series first came out in 2017. Steven Knight, the writer of Peaky Blinders, wrote this series. Fans have been waiting for years to hear about Season 2, and Hardy said that work on the second season has started.
Tom is writing the show again and may team up with Knight once more. This means the mysterious story of James Keziah Delaney is finally set to continue. The new season is returning with Jessie Buckley as Lorna Bow, Stephen Graham as Atticus, Tom Hollander as Dr. George, Edward Hogg as Michael Godfrey, David Hayman as Brace, Louis Ashbourne Serkis as Robert, as well as Mark Gatiss as Prince Regent.

Taboo cast and character: Tom Hardy as James Keziah Delaney
Hardy’s James Delaney in Taboo is a former cadet of the East India Company. The character embarks on a personal vengeance against it. He is a tough former soldier who does not follow rules and often turns violent. Even so, he was once praised as an excellent cadet who could handle many different tasks. Thus, he is clever in his thinking and ruthless in his action. The official synopsis of James in the upcoming season has been shared on the MovieWeb website:
“Adventurer James Keziah Delaney, long …………… All is not what it seems, however, as Delaney encounters numerous enemies intent on making his life back in the United Kingdom very difficult. Focused on building a shipping ………… East India Company, Delaney’s other wish to seek vengeance for his father’s death means conspiracy, betrayal and bloodshed are also in the cards. As he works to accomplish that, Delaney must also navigate increasingly complex territories in order to avoid his own death sentence.”
Tom has more television work ahead. Fans are still waiting for updates on Season 2. In the meantime, his new Paramount+ series MobLand has already been confirmed to return with more episodes. This means Hardy will be spending plenty of time on screen in the future.
Taboo cast and character: Jessie Buckley as Lorna Bow
Jessie Buckley is returning in Taboo Season 2 as Lorna Bow. The character is an Irish actress and the late wife of Horace Delaney. She stayed close to her husband during the final years of his life.
Moreover, she listened with great interest to her husband’s stories about the past. This included his memories of his son James, who had been missing from his life for many years.
Tom Hollander as Dr. George
In Taboo Season 2, you can expect Tom Hollander to return as Dr. George. The character was a chemist who used tricks and scams to make money. He staged fake demonstrations and pretended to perform scientific experiments. His strong knowledge of chemistry and his unusual skills soon caught the attention of James Delaney.
