The Madison Episode 4, titled ‘Tomorrow is Goodbye‘, follows the Clyburns struggling to process their grief and rebuild their lives after the sudden demise of the family patriarch, Preston, and his brother Paul.
The episode begins with a flashback sequence showing the final hours before Preston and Paul’s deaths. Late at night, Paul wakes his brother and tells him that it is the perfect time to go fishing. As they head toward the river, Preston worries about Paul. He asks him about whether he feels lonely since his wife, Melissa, passed away long ago. It’s quite clear that Paul found it hard to move on.
Back in the present, Stacy’s close friend Liliana visits the Clyburns to help them during their tough times. Stacy breaks down and hugs Liliana tightly. Stacy tells her about Preston’s journal and how she feels guilty for not letting Preston fulfill his dream to relocate to Montana. Liliana barely manages to console her. Deputy Van manages to find a black box recording of Preston’s plane. Turns out, Preston’s last words were Stacy, and it makes everyone quite emotional. Elsewhere, Van and Abigail’s bond grows closer. At one point, it seemed like the Clyburns had finally adapted to the rural life in Montana.

Michelle Pfeiffer plays Stacy Clyburn in The Madison Episode 4. She is Preston’s wife and the mother of Abigail and Paige. In this episode, she barely manages to keep herself together. She feels guilty for not realizing Preston’s dream of moving to Montana. Preston’s journal has clearly left a mark on Stacy’s heart. However, throughout the episode, Stacy slowly starts to heal. Her close friend Liliana visits her and consoles her. Stacy has an emotional meltdown after she learns that Preston’s last words were her name. Liliana and Van help her calm down. Later, Stacy takes her granddaughter Macy for fly fishing, and surprisingly, she does well on her first attempt. Later at dinner, Stacy reminds everyone of Preston and Paul’s burial that was scheduled for the next day.

Kurt Russell plays Preston Clyburn in The Madison Episode 4. He appears in the flashback sequence where he’s shown fishing with his brother Paul. He worries about Paul’s well-being. They spend some memorable time fishing and revisiting their childhood memories. Little did they know that those were the final hours of their life and they would soon die in a fatal plane crash.
