Candace Owens, the American far-right political commentator, author and conspiracy theorist, came into focus after a (now-deleted) X post claimed that she had died. What’s more bizarre is that this shocking news reportedly came from fellow podcaster Lilly Gaddis, best known for The Lilly Show.
According to the alleged screenshots floating on X, Gaddis wrote about Owens’ death in a now-deleted post:
“Candace Owen’s family reached out to me earlier this morning, it is with deep sadness and sorrow that I am sharing the passing of my long time friend and fellow political commentator, Candace. But I also can’t shake the feeling that this wasn’t simply a random tragedy. There are circumstances surrounding Candace’s death, especially after Charlie’s passing, that raise serious questions, and I hope the full truth comes to light. I want to respect her family’s privacy so I will refrain from sharing any further details. Please stay posted.”
While Lilly Gaddis was quick to delete this X post, it has raised serious concerns about Owens’ whereabouts. However, Owens’ recent social media activity confirms that she is not only active on X but very much alive. Additionally, Owens’ family has not released any official statement confirming her death, making this online chaos likely a death hoax.
More on this in our story.
Candace Owens death hoax brought her social media activity into focus
Lilly Gaddis’ now-deleted X post about Candace Owens’ death erupted into online chaos, after people speculated about the podcaster’s safety, some even flocking to her social media to verify her whereabouts.
While the 37-year-old far-right political commentator has not responded to Lilly Gaddis’ X post about her death yet, her social media activity came into focus. A few hours after Gaddis deleted her X post about Owens’ death, the latter made 4 posts on her Twitter account, including 2 reshares. While neither of her 4 posts addressed her death hoax, fans are closely monitoring Owens’ social media activity.
In one of the posts, made 12-14 hours ago, Candace Owens was fighting with Turning Point USA’s Blake Neff, calling out the ”people who have sold their souls to Israel.” Another reshare was a reply to a clip of Tucker Carlson, voicing his views about Charlie Kirk’s death, who he believed ”was not murdered for his opinions on transgenderism.” Candace Owens agreed with Carlson and replied ”Correct” under the post.
While Lilly Gaddis’ post created online chaos, people believe that it was a hoax and that Candace Owens is alive. Since neither her friends nor family has shared any confirmation about her death, it is believed that she is alive. Additionally, her recent X activity is another indication that her death claims were likely a hoax.
Best known for her conservative activism, Candace Owens gained attention after Charlie Kirk’s assassination in September 2025 at Utah Valley University. Since Owens is a former TPUSA member and Kirk’s friend, she questioned the truth behind the investigation, even suggesting that Tyler Robinson did not act alone in killing Kirk.
Additionally, Owens came out with several conspiracy theories in the wake of Kirk’s assassination, accusing Utah politician Phil Lyman (who was attending the event at which Kirk was assassinated), an Israeli conspiracy and the Egyptian and French governments of her late friend’s assassination. While Governor of Utah, Spencer Cox denied Owens’ accusations against Lyman, several media outlets called out the podcaster for promoting antisemitic conspiracy theories. However, Owens failed to provide any evidence for her strong theories.
While the podcaster is unlikely to release new content over the weekend, the situation is expected to become clearer when the next episode of her podcast, Candace, drops on Monday.
