Have we reached Electra’s redemption arc?

The Bold and the Beautiful might have realized it leaned in to hard on making Electra an over-privileged victim in the Dylan homelessness story, so now the show seems to want to backtrack and remind us why we are supposed to like her.

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Electra went too far

Electra (Laneya Grace) was supposed to be the fair, put-upon heroine who every young man would fall for. The anti-Luna, per se. However, the anti-Luna proved she was a little looney herself when she got so jealous over friend living with Will (Crew Morrow) that she wanted Dylan (Sydney Bullock) to live in her car again.

We know that B&B’s main characters are the most unself-aware characters on soaps, having no idea what the planet is really like outside of their Los Angeles fashion world. They believe they are the bastions of morality and if they say something is wrong, then surely, it must be.

Ivy (Ashley Brewer) decided it wasn’t proper for Dylan to live in the room above Will’s garage, Electra agreed, and the weeping began. Never mind the fact that Will had to explain the concept of homelessness to Electra. Dylan still had no right to go anywhere near Electra’s boyfriend and invade her world.

That story did nothing for Electra’s popularity with fans except to turn them off. So, it appear that the show is ready to backtrack now and remind us why Electra is pure as the driven snow.

Let’s bring back Electra’s past

We feel that B&B found a solution to a problem of their own making by reminding everyone that Remy (Christian Weissmann) made deep fakes of Electra, which is what drove her out of her Texas town and to Los Angeles. As Electra told her tale to RJ (Brayan Nicoletti), we began getting the feeling that the only reason this story was making a comeback was t garner sympathy for Electra.

Will it work? Will Electra become a sympathetic character again or are we past the point of no return? Kicking a homeless girl out onto the street just might be a bridge too far, deep fakes or not
