Has Goldie Hawn won an Oscar? Details explored after the actress speaks candidly about her ongoing hiatus from acting

Goldie Hawn won her only Oscar so far back in 1970 for her role in the film Cactus Flower, which was directed by Gene Saks. The film was based on a screenplay by I. A. L. She won the Special Classification – Individuals award at the 1969 Primetime Emmy Awards for her role in Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In.

Goldie Hawn explains her ongoing hiatus from acting

Goldie Hawn has not starred in any major roles since 2020. The actress recently sat down with People to talk about her hiatus, stating that while she was not opposed to acting again, she hasn’t come across any script or screenplay that she clicked with:

“It’s about the content, It has to do with the content. Acting for acting’s sake, taking things… I’ve read a lot of shows, a lot of scripts that I didn’t like or I didn’t think I’d fit. The one thing about acting is that I’ve done it, and I had a great career, and I honor that.”

The actress continued, saying that if someone came with a cool and funny script, that would be great:

“I would love to get a material that could actually be like, ‘Oh my God, I want this so bad. This is so funny. She’s so crazy. She’s so interesting.’ But I haven’t come across it. If somebody came up with a really cool, funny script . . . I think it would be great.”

Hawn, later in the interview, also talked about how life has sections to it, and doing the same thing over and over again is not interesting for her:

“I think ultimately every life has to have its sections. Doing the same thing over and over again for your whole life is not as interesting to me. And I decided at probably 55 or something. …‘What are you going to do for this next part of your life?’ And I knew that there was more out there to learn and to do.”

Goldie Hawn has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which she received in 2017. Her star is the 2,609th Star – Motion Picture. Her partner, Kurt Russell, received the 2,610th star.
