Godolkin University has officially shut down, at least for the time being. Gen V, the spinoff and the third TV series in The Boys franchise, was recently cancelled after its two-season run, and it shocked fans massively.
Although the universe is far from over, the sudden demise of its bold and off-the-wall college-set spinoff has triggered emotional responses from several cast members, including London Thor, who portrayed the female version of the fan-favorite gender-shifting character Jordan Li.
London Thor and the cast lean into gratitude after the Gen V cancellation
For London Thor, Gen V‘s cancellation feels more like a cut-short ending, rather than a true conclusion. Though Gen V Season 2 completed airing by October 2025, it appeared that there were still more adventures left to explore, as co-creator Eric Kripke already stated in interviews that he had clear plans for Season 3.
London Thor put a lot of effort into the character of Jordan Li, and this felt like a premature ending for both viewers and the actor. She took to Instagram after the abrupt cancellation and shared with fans:
“This show changed my life. So long Jordan. Thank you for everything.”
The response from the rest of the cast members also felt more nostalgic than outraged. Thor and others have thanked the fans and the team, but also lamented the loss of a story that was just getting started. It didn’t seem like a series that was losing its creativity, but far from it.
Co-star Jaz Sinclair added to this narrative, celebrating the fans, the crew and the adventure. She wrote on her Instagram:
“There’s so much I wanna (and will) say, but for today I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m so happy you’re here and I’m so grateful for this incredible experience.”
Actress Maddie Phillips also shared a clip from their shooting days, and captioned it as:
“Live laugh love, later !!! <3.”
The cancellation being more than a loss, the cast viewed it as a significant chapter, even if for a shorter time. It greatly highlighted the uncertainty and volatile nature of the modern streaming environment.
The Boys universe isn’t done with these characters
The catch is that Gen V‘s ending does not mean that the characters go away; they are coming back. The producers stated that the Gen V supes and their stories will continue within the wider Vought Cinematic Universe, including in The Boys Season 5 and future spin-offs. So London Thor’s Jordan Li, Sinclair’s Marie Moreau and others may well play a role in the franchise’s endgame.
This makes the series’ cancellation less of an ending and more of a transition. With The Boys on its last season and new shows like Vought Rising on the way, the world is changing rather than terminating. For fans, it is bittersweet. Gen V may be gone, but that doesn’t mean the story is finished, and for Thor, it may be “until we meet again”.
