Melbourne-based TV host and model-turned-actress, Ruby Rose, has reportedly claimed that singer-songwriter Katy Perry sexually assaulted her almost two decades ago in a nightclub in Melbourne, Australia, as per People Magazine.
Following the 40-year-old Rose’s recent reported claim about Perry sexually abusing her twenty years ago, the former manager of the nightclub where the alleged incident took place has spoken out.
As cited by Rolling Stone Australia, during an interview with the Herald Sun, the ex-manager of the now-defunct nightclub Spice Market in Melbourne reportedly claimed he had no idea about any such incident at the time.
While the ex-manager claimed that he did not witness the alleged incident, he did confirm that the Batwoman actress Ruby Rose and the 41-year-old Hot N Cold hitmaker Katy Perry were present at the club together in August 2010. The ex-manager stated:
“They came in together, they were also with Katy’s hair and make-up girl and another guy who was friends with Ruby.”
He continued:
“It was a security nightmare because there were 600 people there and Katy kept coming out and dancing with everybody and going right in the middle of the mosh pit.”
While the nightclub manager denied witnessing Perry sexually assaulting Rose, he claimed that both of them were hanging out in a separate VIP section, which was called the Genie Bottle. He said:
“They were in the Genie Bottle and having drinks and stuff, but were mainly in there doing their own thing. I wasn’t aware of any alleged assault or someone vomiting.”
As the former manager mentioned that Katy Perry and Roby Rose were both quite intoxicated, he clarified that they “weren’t paralytic or anything.” He reportedly claimed:
“Both had way too much to drink. To avoid people taking photos of them in a state, we organized a car and driver to be waiting outside the Collins St entrance of the hotel. We escorted them out the back and up the fire exit and put them in the car together.”
He then mentioned that after leaving the club, they might have both checked into The Peel Hotel.
Katy Perry is under investigation after Ruby Rose reportedly accused her of sexual assault
As of April 15, 2026, Katy Perry, who is currently dating Justin Trudeau, the former Prime Minister of Canada, is reportedly under investigation by Victoria Police after the John Wick: Chapter 2 actress, Ruby Rose, accused her of sexually assaulting her almost twenty years ago.
According to the Herald Sun, as cited by People Magazine, Ruby’s reported accusations against Katy are being investigated by detectives from the Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation team. A representative from the Victoria Police informed the Herald Sun that:
“Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s CBD. As the investigation remains ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.”
There have been no comments from representatives of Ruby Rose and Katy Perry yet.
