After a viral confrontation at a São Paulo hotel involving her daughter and Chappell Roan, Catherine Harding finally spoke out, questioning the guard’s affiliation. Amid this, the internet erupted with mixed reactions to the incident.
On Sunday, March 22, Harding, the mom of the 11-year-old who loves Roan, finally spoke out on social media about what allegedly happened. She said:
“I know that Chappell has responded, saying that it wasn’t her security and that she didn’t do it. So, 100%, this security guard was not a security guard of the hotel. That’s what I can say. He looks after artists. I don’t know if it was her personal security guard, but he was with her. So that’s all I know.”
The controversy started when Catherine Harding’s husband, Jorginho Frello, fired off an angry Instagram Story on Saturday. He called out Chappell Roan and her security for accusing his daughter of harassing the pop star.
Chappell Roan responded in an Instagram post a few hours later stating that she did not have any hate towards children and that she simply sat at breakfast eating her food. She also stated that she agrees that Catherine Harding’s daughter deserved better than what had happened to her.
In her video, Harding said their trip to São Paulo and tickets to Lollapalooza Brazil—where Chappell Roan was one of the headliners—were a birthday gift for their daughter. But after the incident at the hotel left her upset and crying, they ended up skipping the concert that night.

Social media lit up with various comments as Catherine Harding broke her silence on the incident. Some expressed support for the family, berating Chappell Roan’s supposed guard’s action, while others accused Harding of speaking out for clout.
