Fans are worried about one thing as The Madison gets a new update with Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell ahead of Season 2

The Madison has been renewed for Season 3 ahead of Season 2. The first season of the Taylor Sheridan series was released last month, gaining an almost 8-star rating on IMDb.

The series featured Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, along with Beau Garrett, Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, and Amiah Miller. While the official release date for Season 2 is yet to be announced, Paramount+ has officially renewed the show for the third season, which will star Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell.

Since the first and second seasons both had six episodes each, it is quite possible that the third season might follow the same pattern. However, the official episode count for season three has not been confirmed yet.

More on the story below.

The Madison Season 3 renewal confirmed after positive response

The first season of The Madison revolved around a tragedy as both brothers, Paul and Preston, died in a plane crash. After his death, Preston’s wife and his daughters struggle to adjust after moving to Montana from New York. While they struggled at first, over time, his wife, Stacy, understands why Preston loved the place so much and finds comfort there.

While the announcement of Season 3 has come as a surprise for many, given that Season 2 is yet to premiere, in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jane Wiseman, Paramount+’s executive vice president and head of originals, hinted at the future of the series, adding:

“I mean, this is, again, a love story — and an evolution,” she said at the time, “and so I do feel like there’s a lot more to tell.”

The first season and the second season of The Madison were filmed together. Speaking of Season 2, Kurt Russell told Variety:

“I think it’s fair to say that in season 2 — and I believe Michelle will agree with me — what happens is the level of real danger goes up. Things begin to become dangerous in realistic ways.”

Michelle Pfeiffer added:

“It’s after the initial stage of raw grief passes, and some time has gone by. It’s the messy and profound rebuilding of everything that you knew after everything that you knew has fallen apart and what that looks like.”

While Season 3 has already been confirmed, the creators have kept the plot and other details private for now. Additionally, with Season 2 expected to release later this year or next year, Season 3 will most likely arrive the year after that.

What are fans worried about after The Madison Season 3 update?

Even as the show gears up for another season, fan reactions remain mixed after the Season 3 renewal update. Some viewers feel the storyline has already stretched over recent episodes, while others have shared concerns about the continued use of Kurt Russell flashbacks, particularly if they lead to more emotional sequences.

Showing concern over the stretched storyline, a Reddit user wrote:

“I didn’t even know there was going to be a season 2, I figured it’d be a miniseries because of the plot… I hope they don’t drag it out though. It’s clearly meant to be she moves to Montana and her oldest daughter moves as well to be with the good looking sheriff guy lol”

“I don’t understand what the plot is going to be. Season 1 plot is dad dies so family reunite and their mother gives them a lecture every 10 minutes because they are ‘bad children’.” an X user wrote.

“Season 2 hasn´t come out yet, and they are already doing a third season.” another user added

“We’re still making Yellowstone spinoffs when the original lost steam seasons ago? Let’s focus on fresh ideas instead of milking a tired cow.” one more X user wrote.

However, the response has not been one-sided. Many fans also expressed enthusiasm about the renewal and anticipation for the upcoming seasons of The Madison.
