Doomsday’s Doctor Doom and Reed Richards face-off teased by Pedro Pascal

As we get closer to the theatrical release of Avengers: Doomsday, fans are more and more eager to find out more about the film’s story. Since most of Marvel’s heroes are part of the film, everyone is eager to know which characters will face Doctor Doom (played by Robert Downey Jr.) or have big roles in the film.

Pedro Pascal, who played Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025), is reprising his role in Avengers: Doomsday and has teased something crucial about his character in the film.

Will Reed Richards and Doctor Soon have a face-off in Avengers: Doomsday?

The fact that multiple heroes, including Steve Rogers, have to get together to defeat Doctor Doom is proof that he is by far one of the biggest villains in the MCU. Thus, fans are looking forward to seeing multiple characters facing Doom and fighting him. In an interview with JeaxActu, Pedro Pascal teased that his character, Reed Richards, might just have a face-off with Doctor Doom.

In an interview with JeaxActu, Pascal was asked if he had watched Avengers: Doomsday yet and if fans can expect Pascal’s character Reed Richards to have a big moment with Doctor Doom. While Pascal said he hasn’t watched the movie yet, he did say,

“There is so much to expect that I wouldn’t even know where to begin.”

While Pascal did not explicitly confirm that Reed Richards does have a big face-off with Doom, his statement suggests that there’s a lot that can be expected from his character in the context of the question. Moreover, he did say that there’s so much that can be expected that he doesn’t know how to begin talking about them.

While not explicitly confirmed, we can expect one or multiple big scenes between Reed Richards and Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. The mid-credits scene of The Fantastic Four: First Steps showed us how Doctor Doom visited a four-year-old Franklin Reeds, and while the scene ended there, it is evident that Doom has bigger plans for the little superhero like he did in the comics.

As Franklin’s father, Reed will understandably not be happy about Doom getting anywhere close to his son, and that is one of the ways we might see Reed and Doom at opposite ends. But there might also be other situations and reasons behind them sharing a big moment, and only Avengers: Doomsday can reveal what they are.

Besides Pascal and Downey, Avengers: Doomsday will also star Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm / Invisible Woman, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as John Walker / U.S. Agent, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm / The Thing, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man, Ian McKellen as Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto, James Marsden as Scott Summers / Cyclops, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier, among others.

The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely are the writers. The film is produced by Kevin Feige, Anthony Russo, and Joe Russo. Marvel Studios and ABGO are the production companies behind the film.

Avengers: Doomsday will be released in theaters on December 18, 2026.
