We Are All Trying Here Episode 3 recap: A strange device brings Dong-man and Eun-a closer

We Are All Trying Here episode 3 opens with Dong-man and Eun-a crossing paths again at the company retreat. But this time, they are connected by the “Emotion Watch” which can track more than just a person’s feelings.

The two then had a very honest conversation during which Dong-man clearly portrays himself as a negative man. At the same time, Eun-a is using the device secretly as she does not want others to know that she’s struggling with her emotions lately.

The reasons why Dong-man starts believing that he’s a bad person are because the watch detects happiness in him when bad things happen like a car crash, hearing bad news about someone, and feeling good when seeing others fail.

But Eun-a does not see Dong-man as a useless and harmful man. She believes he is honest and really complicated. Instead of looking down at Dong-man or rejecting him in episode 3 of We Are All Trying Here, Eun-a understands him.

When Eun-a mentioned that Dong-man is cool, his emotion watch detected a warm feeling. This explains that he has rarely met people who appreciate him and try to understand his situation.

We Are All Trying Here episode 3 recap: Conflicts arise as past wounds and ego collide

Dong-man is slowly changing inside, but his outer life becomes messier. He finally stands up to The Eight, the group that has always mocked and judged him despite the fact that he was also a part of it once.

Instead of staying quiet, Dong-man pushes back and even challenges Gyeong-se directly. This explains that Dong-man no longer plans to accept how people treat him and humiliate him whenever they want.

Meanwhile, Gyeong-se is facing problems of his own. His latest film is failing badly, getting criticism and poor audience response. Even though he looks successful, he is deeply hurt by every negative review.

He becomes obsessed with reading negative comments and even tries to sell free tickets. But nothing seems to be working for him and this leads to Gyeong-se feeling less confident about himself.

As Dong-man sees Gyeong-se suffer, he finally admits that many of the harsh reviews in episode 3 of We Are All Trying Here were secretly written by him. This shocks Gyeong-se and makes him even more furious. Their conflict turns into a heated fight filled with insults and wounded pride.

On the other side, problems rise between Jun-hwan and Eun-a because Jun-hwan did not credit Eun-a for the most important part of his screenplay that she helped with. He took all the credit which makes Eun-a confront him about her contribution.

She demands that either she should be credited for her work or it should be fully removed. However, Jun-hwan doesn’t seem to care about anything she said. He insulted Eun-a and this conversation also hints at some painful past memories.
