Recently, rumors surfaced online that former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has parted ways with his American pop icon girlfriend Katy Perry, after she reportedly flirted with rapper and record producer Chief Keef.
On May 28, the Hoops Crave account uploaded a post on X with a cosy picture of Katy and Justin and another showing both artists preparing for a hug. The caption read:
“Justin Trudeau has ended his relationship with Katy Perry after Katy was caught flirting with Chief Keef.”
However, the rumor is fake. There is no confirmed news of Perry and Trudeau breaking up over Chief Keef. Moreover, the Hoops Crave account is known for its satirical/ misleading content. In fact, its bio states:
“Craving Hoops Culture | parody account not affiliated with @popcrave.”
While the Hoops Crave post amassed over 45,800 views, the rumor was further fuelled when hip-hop artist Sexyy Red commented underneath Kollege Kidd’s Instagram post featuring Perry and Keef from their latest studio session:
“Katy u coo but watch out, gang.”
Neither the Roar singer nor the Love Sosa rapper has addressed the rumored link-up. Justin Trudeau is also maintaining his silence on the matter.
Exploring the history between Katy Perry and Chief Keef
Seven hours ago, Katy Perry teased her latest collaboration with former rival Chief Keef. She shared a carousel of pictures and videos from their recent studio session and captioned it:
“LEGENDARY LOVERS TONIGHT 9pm PT. YABADABADOOOO.”
Keef returned the favor by reposting Perry’s post on his Instagram Stories. They were seen wearing hoodies from his merch brand Glow Gang.
A couple of hours back, the pair finally dropped the song titled Legendary Lovers (Save Me).
While they seem to have a friendly relationship now, Katy Perry and Chief Keef feuded on X in May 2013. Back then, she trashed his song Hate Bein’ Sober and tweeted:
“Just heard a new song on the radio called ‘I Hate Being Sober.’ I now have serious doubt about the world.”
Keef didn’t take the criticism lightly and immediately clapped back with a series of tweets. In one, he wrote:
“Dat b*tch Katy Perry can s**k skin off my d**k.”
In a follow-up post, he added:
“I’ll smack the sh*t out her.”
The Chicago drill rapper also warned Katy that a new song directed at her was coming soon.
Perry cleared the air by tweeting:
“Mr. Keef! I’m sorry if I offended you. I heard a lot of people guesting on the song & didn’t even know it was you in particular. Actually…”
It is noteworthy that Hate Bein’ Sober indeed had 50 Cent and Wiz Khalifa as featured artists.
Chief Keef appeared to squash the beef by writing:
“Oh [sad emoji] I’m Sorry Too, Then [sad emoji].”
The Grammy winner also said that she was a “lover, not a hater” and claimed to be a fan of Keef’s Don’t Like music video. She went on to justify her past criticism as a “general opinion on our generation’s desire to be constantly intoxicated.”
The following year, he used Perry’s original 2013 song Legendary Lovers into his own song Save Me. Now, a blend of the two has been made into a brand-new record by both artists.
It is noteworthy that earlier this week, Katy Perry even posted a clip of herself on TikTok where she was seen doing her makeup and sitting down on a couch in a meditative mode. The caption went:
“attempting to summon Mr. Keef.”
It was clearly a cheeky way to tease their recent collaboration.
As for Katy and her beau Justin Trudeau, they first crossed paths at a charity gala in early 2025. By July, they had launched their romance and were seen hanging out at concerts and going out for dinners. Last month, they were seen at the Coachella and the Beef season 2 premiere.
