Did Billie Eilish and Justin Bieber kiss during ‘One Less Lonely Girl’ Coachella performance? Viral post debunked

On April 18, Justin Bieber closed his set with his 2009 hit song One Less Lonely Girl at the ongoing Coachella 2026. Billie Eilish, who was seated in the front row throughout the show, was visibly emotional as Bieber called her to the stage for the performance.

In the wake of the surprise, X user @Diamie_x shared a picture of the duo kissing, with the caption:

“Billie Eilish and Justin Bieber just kissed after performing his single ‘One Less Lonely Girl’ at Coachella. If Hailey decides to divorce him after this, I’ll totally understand.”

The post quickly garnered traction with over 58,400 views at the time of writing. However, we can confirm the picture is AI-generated and the caption is misleading.

Justin Bieber did not kiss Billie Eilish. In fact, according to the original video, Eilish was seen covering her face with both hands as Bieber sang the chorus. At the end, she fell to her knees as Justin pulled her up, hugged her, and gave her a peck on the back of her head.

The now-viral video, first shared by Entertainment Tonight, also showed the real-life friends and fellow recording artists share another hug, before parting ways and Billie rejoining the audience with a big smile.

Later that day, Eilish posted a selfie of half of her face lying in bed and writing, “Can’t stop crying” on her Instagram Stories.

Exploring Justin Bieber and Billie Eilish’s friendship history

According to InStyle, Justin Bieber and Billie Eilish first crossed paths at Coachella 2019. In fact, at the time, Eilish, a self-proclaimed ‘Bilieber’ or a Bieber superfan, was overwhelmed with tears when she had the opportunity to hug her childhood idol.

Since then, the duo has shared a beautiful and close friendship. In fact, Billie, 24, once famously said in an interview:

“The only time that I was like I wanna be famous… I only wanted to be famous so that I could be closer to Justin Bieber.”

Likewise, Bieber, 32, has since taken on a protective role toward the Hotline Bling singer, telling Zane Lowe in February 2020:

“I just want to protect her. I don’t want her to lose it. I don’t want her to go through anything I went through. I don’t wish that upon anybody. If she ever needs me, I’m just a call away.”

In a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Morning Mash Up, Billie further described Justin as a “good friend of mine,” adding:

“He, you know, has been so helpful for me, in terms of just, like, dealing with fame. And he’ll call me sometimes and just say stuff that makes me just feel heard, and like there’s somebody else who goes through the same stuff. So, it’s really nice to have him.”

Elsewhere, the duo collaborated on Billie Eilish’s 2019 remix of Bad Guy.

The Ocean Eyes singer wasn’t the only celebrity to be invited by Justin Bieber to join him onstage at this year’s Coachella. Others like Sexxy Red, SZA, Big Sean, Kid LAROI, Wizkid, and Dijon were also in attendance.
