Days of our Lives star Lauren Koslow is doing more than celebrating her 30th year as Kate Roberts on the Peacock drama. She’s also celebrating her birthday as she was born on March 9th!

“Ah, but I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now,” Koslow posted on Instagram, quoting musician Bob Dylan, on the occasion of her birthday.
The actress, born in Boston, Massachusetts, first came to the attention of soap fans when she joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in 1984 as Lindsey Wells. Lindsey was in love with Jack Abbott (then, Terry Lester; now, Peter Bergman). Jack wed Lindsey as she knew about his fling with Jill Foster Abbott (Brenda Dickson; now, Jess Walton) when she was married to Jack’s father, John (Jerry Douglas).
Jack pulled a fast one, though. The union wasn’t legal. Lindsey vowed revenge, but that never played out on-screen. After leaving Genoa City in 1986, Koslow was tapped to join the original cast of The Bold and the Beautiful as fashion designer, Margo Lynley, the right hand to Forrester Creations founder, Eric Forrester (John McCook).
Koslow remained with the half-hour soap for five years. She returned briefly in 2002 to help usher onto the canvas her son, Mark (Michael Dietz).
Life in Salem
Koslow became Kate Roberts on DAYS in 1996, taking over from Deborah Adair (ex-Jill, Y&R). Koslow has worked nearly non-stop since joining the Peacock drama. Kate was thrust into conflict with her nemesis, Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel), who wanted Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) for herself!
Kate had a volatile history, too, with Dr. Laura Horton (Jaime Lyn Bauer), as Kate had had an affair with Laura’s husband, Bill (Christopher Stone), while Laura was institutionalized.
Kate worked overtime trying to keep manipulative Sami (Allison Sweeney) from her sons, Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) and Austin (Austin Peck). The power balance between Kate and Sami shifted over the years, with one having the upper hand over the other at various times.
Kate’s softer side was brought out through her romance with Roman (Josh Taylor). During a time when it was believed that both Roman and Marlena (Deidre Hall), Kate helped John Black (the late, great Drake Hogestyn) through an addiction.
Last summer, Koslow turned in a tour de force as Kate blasted EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) for the crime he’d committed years ago of forcing Sami to bear his child in exchange for saving Lucas’s life.
More recently, Kate bid farewell to her late love interest, Stefano (the late, great Joe Mascolo), with whom she shared a volatile relationship on Days of our Lives. Soap Central honored Koslow for her performance with our Performer of the Week for DAYS feature.
