Days of our Lives actress Julie Dove, who played villainess Connie Viniski, has a warm, wonderful message to share with pet lovers everywhere as she remembers a beloved four-legged friend on a special anniversary.
Days of our Lives, Julie Dove recalls a dear companion
“It’s been two years today since my sweet, blue-eyed girl, Chula, crossed the Rainbow Bridge,” Dove posted on Instagram. “I miss her so much. I never thought I would be a dog mom, but when I adopted Chula, I took on the role with a passion. She was one of a kind, and we were inseparable. Everyone loved her.
“We went through so much crazy stuff together: living across the street from the gang leader, living in the moldy apartment, two hip surgeries for me, countless ear infections for her, and trying every eye drop a dog could take to try and save those sweet eyes,” the actress reveals.
“When Chula lost her vision, she was just as happy as when she could see,” Dove shares. “But the pain from glaucoma was too much, and I had to set her free. My mama adored her and treated her like a grandbaby. We moved so many times, including sleeping in 14 different hotels, couches, etc., from October 2019 to October 2020, because life just kept kicking our ass.
“Chula adapted to each place immediately and gave me the most unconditional acceptance and love,” Dove adds. “I don’t think I’d be here today if I hadn’t adopted Chula. The pain of the world sometimes gets to be too much. She truly saved my life. I am so thankful for all the lessons I learned from this beautiful girl. Her memory is a blessing. 🌈 🐾 💛.”
You’ve got to have friends, Days of our Lives

Last year, Dove took part in Melissa Claire Egan’s (Chelsea, The Young and the Restless) pet charity, “Daytime for Dogs,” which took place in August.
Dove’s pals chimed in with supportive messages. “What treasured memories!” posted Kathie Gunn. “Though you miss her terribly, I hope thinking of your special times with her makes you smile 💛.”
“I’m so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Chula,” wrote Deb Riccio. “I’ve had dogs my whole life, so I understand. They truly are part of our family, and we treat them just like everyone else in our family. Sending you many prayers and much love. 🙏💞🐶🤍.”
“I know that feeling of letting your sweet pup go. Hugs and love.❤️,: posted Miz Shannon B.
