David Harbour finally breaks silence on his estranged wife, Lily Allen’s, music album that was allegedly inspired by their relationship. The English singer’s album, titled West End Girl, came out last year shortly after the couple’s split. In his latest interview with Variety, the Stranger Things actor spoke out on Lily’s album for the first time.
David agreed that artists use their art and experiences to express themselves. He respected Allen’s album. He then said that her album does tell a different story from his private life.
“It was weird. I do believe that it is the privilege of every artist to use their experience to create art, and so I respect her for doing that. I can’t really say that much more because it’s my private life. In spite of the fact that a lot of people don’t allow me a private life — I value it. And I also value the lives of the people that I interact with privately. I just won’t speak about that.”
David Harbour said that stories are ‘complex’ and the ones told in Lily Allen’s album aren’t his experience.
“Stories are complex and that’s why I say I respect her creation of art to channel her experience. It wasn’t my experience.”

Several songs on Allen’s album suggest that their marriage ended because David Harbour was unfaithful. In the song Dallas Major, the female singer talks about having an open relationship and claims that her partner had a s*x addiction.
David and Lily parted ways last year after four years of marriage.
