MLB The Show 26 has claimed the No. 1 spot on the PlayStation Store’s PS5 best-sellers chart in the United States for the month of April, pushing Crimson Desert down to third and marking the second consecutive month that Sony’s own baseball franchise has held the top position on the American charts.
The result arrived amid genuine competition from several high-profile titles. Pragmata, Capcom’s long-anticipated release and an early Game of the Year conversation starter, landed at No. 2 — a strong debut, but not enough to unseat the reigning chart leader. Starfield, which some expected to challenge near the top, settled into the fifth position, with NBA 2K26 taking the fourth spot directly ahead of it.
The complete US top 10
The full US PlayStation Store PS5 rankings for April line up as follows: MLB The Show 26 at No. 1, Pragmata at No. 2, Crimson Desert at No. 3, NBA 2K26 at No. 4, Starfield at No. 5, Content Warning at No. 6, Grand Theft Auto V at No. 7, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire at No. 8, Minecraft at No. 9 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 rounding out the top 10 at No. 10.
It is worth noting that digital-exclusive titles like Content Warning and MOUSE: P.I. For Hire benefit from having all of their sales flow through the PlayStation Store, which can strengthen their chart positions relative to titles also sold at retail. For games available in both formats, however, the effect is less significant, making their placements a broadly reliable reflection of overall demand.
Where Saros landed
PS5 exclusive Saros finished just outside the top 10, landing at No. 11 on the US chart. Given that the game released on April 30 — the final day of the month — its near-top-ten debut in a crowded field is a meaningful result. The launch window was exceptionally narrow, leaving the title just one day to generate sales that counted toward April’s totals, yet it still managed to outpace several titles that had a full month of availability to build their numbers.
How Europe’s chart tells a different story
The European PlayStation Store PS5 rankings paint a noticeably different picture at the top. Baseball carries considerably less cultural weight in Europe than it does in North America, and that gap shows immediately in the chart. EA Sports FC 26, the globally dominant soccer title, held the No. 1 position across European storefronts for the month.
The European top 10 continues with Crimson Desert, Grand Theft Auto V, Starfield, Pragmata, Minecraft, Hades II — a digital-exclusive title that benefits from the same chart dynamic noted above — Content Warning, UFC 5 and Resident Evil 4. Saros finished at No. 17 in Europe, a significantly lower placement than its US result and a reminder of how regional marketing and awareness can shift a game’s reception across different markets in its opening days.
What the combined picture shows
When both charts are considered side by side, Crimson Desert stands out as the most consistent overall performer for April, holding a top-three position in both the US and Europe. This is now the second consecutive month the open-world action title has achieved that cross-regional strength, pointing to sustained audience engagement well past its initial launch momentum.
For MLB The Show 26, back-to-back US chart leadership demonstrates that Sony’s annual baseball franchise continues to perform reliably at the top of the PlayStation Store, even against a field of newer and more heavily anticipated releases.
All figures reflect digital PS5 sales through the PlayStation Store for April only and do not include physical retail purchases.
