Days of our Lives star Cary Christopher announced on social media that he had wrapped up at the Peacock drama and his role as Thomas. Given the show’s lenghty lead time, we’re never quite 100% sure, however, when an actor’s last airdate might be. Fortunately, we’re continuing to see Christopher on our screens as Thomas DiMera. Once again, he’s earned our Performer of the Week honors for his scenes as Thomas.
Days of our Lives, Cary Christopher, Performer of the Week

One of Christopher’s greatest strengths as an actor, particularly on DAYS, has been his ability to still behave like a little kid despite the surreal drama that surrounds Thomas. He expressed to his grandmother, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), that he wanted to get back to school (not to study, though, he didn’t want to miss Secret Santa day!).
Jen had some news for the youngster, who is still recovering from being hit by a car; he wasn’t going back to school, and his father, Chad (Billy Flynn), had gone missing. They didn’t have a lot of details, but that only fueled Christopher’s reaction as Thomas. He played both fear and anger. The fear came from not knowing where his father was, and the anger erupted upon realizing that his grandmother had lied to him — just as his father had.
“I’m so sick of grown-ups keeping things from me,” Thomas shouted. “I deserve to know what’s going on!” Jen gently explained she was trying to do what was best. “You sound just like him,” a defeated Thomas shared, as if he were wondering if all grown-ups were liars.
The Natural

“I was mad at him,” Thomas said as his anger shifted to fear, regret, and horror. “I said horrible things. I just want him to come home.”
Then, Thomas took comfort in his grandmother’s arms. He wondered what his father’s absence meant for his custody hearing. Jen explained it was on hold until Chad returned. She broached the idea of bringing Thomas and Charlotte (Autumn Gendron) to Boston so they could attend Celtics games and go skating on the Boston Common Frog Pond.
Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) reminded Thomas about his Sunday School lesson that taught him faith. Thomas’s eyes began to well up at the prospect of his father coming home safely should he have faith.
“Such a wonderful little boy,” Julie said to Jennifer after Thomas went upstairs. Indeed. Soap Central has seen a lot of child actors come and go over the years. Christopher will be remembered as one of the most natural young stars who starred in daytime drama, and he’ll possibly be one of the most successful, given his upcoming projects.
