Britney Spears has been arrested for a DUI; however, things may be worse than they appear for the pop star.
Y2k pop star Britney Spears was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on Wednesday at 21:30 PT, booked at 3 am and was released in the early hours of Thursday morning. After being pulled over, she was also taken to a hospital by California Highway Patrol officers to draw her blood, and the test took place purely to check her blood alcohol, as the singer was not injured.
According to a representative for Spears, who told BBC News,
“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
The statement further added, “Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being.”
Since the incident, Spears has also deleted her Instagram account. However, according to TMZ, who learnt from sources, an unknown substance was allegedly found in the Toxic singer’s car upon arrest. The substance is now being tested. More to come on this.
The singer has to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on 4 May.
