Britain’s ‘most generous boss’ splashes £100k on employees’ Christmas presents as people say they’re ‘in the wrong job’

THE UK’S ‘most generous’ boss has splashed out £100,000 on gifts to say thanks to his employees this Christmas – including a Range Rover and holidays.

As a festive treat and end of year thanks, most of us expect a box of Celebrations at best from our boss. But one giving manager has blown it out of the park.

In the run up to Christmas, CEO Benjy Leslie hosts a ‘Santa Leslie incentive’. He picks the employee and salesperson of the day to get to pick out a present.

He has a large Christmas display with a number of envelopes and wrapped gifts which he spent £100,000 on.

In front of the display is a large tombola box, ready for the employees to spin for their luck. Each day since November staff have been winning prizes.

Staff could not believe their eyes when one new employee – who had only worked at the largest social-first agency, Connect Management for a couple of months – won a Range Rover.

BOSSING IT

I thought I landed my dream job but I dread going to work – can I quit already?

In a video shared on Connect Management’s TikTok page, which has raked in just short of one million views, showed staff screaming and cheering as employee Chloe discovered she won a car.

She picked out the number 60 and said “it’s actually ridiculous” as she read that she had won a car and got the key to a Range Rover, as well as one year’s car insurance.

A brand new Range Rover costs anything between £40,000 and £60,000. Plus, one year insurance would set you back between £700 and £2000 annually.

“There’s no way she won that at work,” the caption of the video said.

Staff followed the lucky winner outside the building to where her car got revealed. “Are you ready to get your car Chloe?,” one individual yelled.

She was gobsmacked as a glossy white Range Rover Evoque came out.

“That is gorgeous,” Chloe said before she posed with the car and took a good look inside.

She commented on Connect’s video and said: “Absolutely insane. Forever grateful to work for the most amazing company in the WORLD! The streets of London better watch out.”

Gobsmacked by the clip, viewers rushed to comment. One individual said: “How do I apply for a job here? I don’t even get a card from my work and have to work over Christmas.”

“How do I apply here ASAP?,” added another. “Think I need a new job,” said one watcher.

Another observed: “A successful business that rewards its employees like this is how it’s meant to be.”

One other said: “It really does mean a lot when you are valued in the company.”

Another added: “I haven’t had a pay rise in five years and I don’t get a Christmas bonus. The Christmas works do is your treat and I don’t go so not treat for me. This company is really making others look terrible.”

“I get £25 at Christmas from my work…I’m in the wrong job,” commented one.

Another shared: “Wow, amazing boss. I completed 14 years service in dementia and I got a £20 Amazon voucher.”

While Chloe won one of the best prizes, there were plenty of other lavish wins.

In other clips, sharing on the company’s TikTok page, one employee won tickets to see Olivia Dean, another employee won a brand new IPhone.

Other staff members won a scooter, a pair of Rayban Meta sunglasses, Airpods Pro Max, an Osmo camera, a Lego set, a LED beauty mask holidays and more.

Best Christmas gifts for people who have everything

The Fabulous team have put their heads together and shared the best gifts to give someone who has everything already!

Candle

There’s something deeply appealing about fragrances that aren’t trying too hard to be seasonal; after all, no one wants to smell Christmas in the middle of January. La Montaña’s collection of hand-poured candles, reed diffusers, and room mists provides instant atmospheric transformation. Cloudburst, £45, really does smell like a mountainside after rain, and the new stunning Wisteria, £45 fragrance will remind you of spring when you’re in the depth of dark winter days.

Candle wick trimmer

Tara Ledden, Fabulous Magazine Beauty Editor

“For the pickiest recipients, buy tools rather than cosmetics. To pair with the a candle, Jo Malone’s London Ribbon and Bow Metal Candle Wick Trimmer, £34, is my favourite find of the season, and an essential for any candle lover. It’s even pretty enough to double up as an ornament!”

Luxury tea

Abigail Wilson, Senior Reporter

“For that person in your life who literally has everything, why not stock up their cupboard and treat them to tasty teas that scream luxury? We Brits love a good brew, and Fortnum & Mason have smashed it out of the park with their Famous Tea Selection. Complete with 120 tea bags, it’s a brilliant gift for tea devotees and at £30, it’s not badly priced either.”

Rose plant

Rebecca Miller, Associate Editor

“Maybe I’m biased because I love gardening, but giving a rose bush as a Christmas present is not only personal and thoughtful, but it’s the gift that keeps on growing and blooming long after the Christmas decorations have been put away. What’s more, late December is the ideal time to pot or plant a bare-root rose.

“You Garden’s Rose Black Baccara makes a stunning addition to any outdoor space; its velvety blooms in sultry, deep burgundy shades provide a dramatic addition during the summer. And for just £17.99, it can also pass as a great Secret Santa gift.”

Scarf

Abby McHale, Fashion Editor & Emily Regan, Fashion Stylist

“Men can be notoriously tricky to buy for, but you can’t go wrong with a classic tartan scarf. Barbour’s iconic Wool Patchwork scarf, £49.95, in Forest/Bronze Brown delivers warmth and style. Soft, cosy and timeless, it’s a refined finishing touch for cold-weather outfits.”
