TRAITORS winner Alan Carr saved a close friend’s life by fending off a knife-wielding attacker.
He tackled an assailant brandishing a ten-inch blade at actress Cleo Rocos — and knocked the weapon out of his hand.
The incident, which left Cleo badly shaken, took place on a night out in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh.
Cleo, 63, said an unsavoury-looking man in his 40s darted out from the shadows and grabbed her arm.
She added: “I pushed him away but he grabbed me tighter and, in really bad English, he said he wanted to be with me.
“We didn’t think he was being serious but then he pulled a knife out.

“It was probably about ten inches long.
“Most people would have been terrified, but Alan was surprisingly calm.
“He pulled me to the other side of him, so he was standing between me and the man, and he said, ‘Don’t be so rude’.
“Before the man could react, he slapped the knife out of his hand.
“The man wasn’t expecting that and I was shocked.
“We walked off at a pace and we kept looking behind us wondering if this man was going to come at us again with the knife.
“But Alan had really knocked the wind out of him — he didn’t punch him or anything but he disarmed him and he was so brave in the way he handled it.
“That night could have gone terribly wrong, but Alan dealt with the situation so decisively — he literally saved my life.”
Cleo, who lives in Brazil where she runs the AquaRiva tequila company, added: “I recounted the story when I got back home, but Alan never mentioned it again.
“That’s how humble he is.
“And I suddenly realised that Alan is a really big person.
“He is much taller than people realise and he is also strong and chivalrous despite his nervous demeanour.
“He’s a real gentleman, which is so nice, and he’s very protective.”
Alan, 49, won BBC show The Celebrity Traitors on Thursday by duping the other contestants into thinking he was a Faithful.
Cleo, best known as Kenny Everett’s 1980s TV sidekick, said: “I’m so proud of him.
“I think this will fling the doors wide open for him to do films.
“He would make a great Bond villain, like the one with the cat, because they are always a little comical.

The winner, 49, posed for a fan as he crashed a book launch in London in his cape and hood.

JOE Marler piled on more than a stone gorging in the castle.
He said: “It’s either play the game and do nothing, or play the game and eat everything. I chose that and put on 8-9kg.
“My wife said, ‘Why are you eating in every scene?’. I went, ‘Well, it was good food’.
She said, ‘What about these three portions of lasagne?’. I was hungry.”
The ex-rugby star, 35, right, added: “I went from exercising a lot to sitting in a castle eating loads.
“I thought, ‘Nobody will believe I was reasonably athletic at one time’.”
WOSSY’S REUNION
JONATHAN Ross will be reunited with some of his Celebrity Traitors cast-mates on a Channel 4 quiz this Christmas.
The chat show host, 64, right, is being lined up to appear on The Big Fat Quiz of the Year along with some fellow stars from the hit BBC show.
He created the quiz, made by his production company Hotsauce TV, and hosted by comedian Jimmy Carr.
Jonathan said: “Obviously Traitors is a big story this year, so I might be doing it with, hopefully, someone else from the Traitors show.”
