Spider-Man: Brand New Day is all set to be released on July 31, 2026, and tickets have just gone on sale today at 9 am ET/6 am PT. There’s a lot of excitement around the upcoming Spider-Man film given the fact that almost one in the MCU remembers who he is, including the people he used to be the closest to.
Ahead of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer release, SCREENX announced their Shot for ScreenX initiative on X, which they have started with this film. The announcement featured behind-the-scenes footage and teased a face-off between Spider-Man and The Hand.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day won’t be releasing in IMAX theaters because Christopher Nolan’s Odyssey, which is completely filmed for IMAX, has booked all IMAX screens for the first four weeks after its July 17, 2026 release. Thus, ScreenX, which is one of the screens we’ll get to see Brand New Day in, has come up with Shot for ScreenX, a mechanism that will project some scenes of the film onto the side walls of the auditorium.
This will allow viewers to watch those scenes in large formats for a unique experience. ScreenX announced this new initiative through a video posted on their X account. The video featured some behind-the-scenes footage of the film, as director Destin Daniel Cretton says,
“For the first time ever ScreenX and their team came to our set to actually shoot the footage that you will experience on screen in the wings of the chosen scenes of our film. This is a first and we crafted this specifically for you, something truly unique that nobody has experienced before. And I hope you all love it.”
From the video, it is clear that scenes with The Hand will be shown in an expanded format with the scenes projected onto the side walls of the auditorium since we see that the ScreenX team has shot them themselves. The behind-the-scenes footage showed us Spider-Man (aka Peter Parker) facing off The Hand both outside in the open and inside a building that resembled a prison.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day BTS look did not show anyone fighting The Hand with Spider-Man, and thus he might be the only one fighting the order of ninja aasasins. However, he would be a formidable adversary to them, as we see Spider-Man breaking a sword into pieces when one of the members of The Hand tries to attack him.
The last time we saw The Hand was in Defenders, where it seemed like the organization was destroyed. But the behind-the-scenes footage shows that not only is the organization still active, it’s back to cause chaos in full force.
The ScreenX announcement video also hinted that we’ll see some scenes of Peter and Frank Castle in large format, especially the scene of Peter smashing through Frank’s truck’s windshield.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
