Born Again Season 2? Charlie Cox answers

Matt Murdock is suiting up again for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 on March 24, but this time he looks a little different. The new look is being called the “blackout” suit, and it’s essentially an all-black version of his familiar armored costume. It also finally features the iconic “DD” logo on the chest, something fans have been waiting for since the character first appeared in the MCU. Lead of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Charlie Cox has made no secret of the fact that he’s pretty thrilled about that detail too.

The way it came together is actually pretty clever. The production team realised they could simply spraypaint the existing red suit black, while stencilling the DDs so they stayed red.

Speaking to IGN, the actor stated,

“There’s almost like a scene that never ended up on screen of Murdock spraypainting the suit black because he needs to be in the shadows before the things that happened in the first episode. But leaving the DDs because he wants Fisk to know who it is. And once we had that picture in our mind, then [it goes to the visual development team]. I think [Sana Amanat] said, ‘The spraypaint starts wearing off after each battle.’”

He further adds that the suit does some special things and it’s also the first time we will see it on Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 as he continued,

“It also does this thing where it creates a suit that’s never been seen before. Every other suit [we’ve done] has existed in the comics, except this is the first one that’s unique to our show.”

More details about Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Matt Murdock is back, and things in New York have gotten a whole lot darker. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 hits Disney+ on March 24, picking up roughly six months after the chaos of Season 1, and it’s shaping up to be bigger and bolder than before.

The story this time centres on Matt and his growing band of allies pushing back against Mayor Wilson Fisk, who now has the entire city under his thumb through an Anti-Vigilante Task Force that has made being a hero illegal.

Most of the familiar faces are back. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio return as Daredevil and Kingpin respectively, joined again by Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, and Wilson Bethel as a newly costumed Bullseye. The big new addition though is Krysten Ritter, reprising her role as Jessica Jones and joining Matt’s resistance, a pairing fans have been waiting a long time to see.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 runs eight episodes weekly until May 12, and Season 3 is already confirmed and in production.
