Big Tigger, the former host of BET’s Rap City, is facing serious legal consequences following an alleged physical altercation with his wife, Alicia, that was partly captured by a Ring security camera inside their home.
The incident reportedly occurred on May 9. In the footage, Alicia appears to ask someone nearby to photograph something, at which point Big Tigger is seen approaching her, reaching for her neck and appearing to instruct her to stop. The confrontation escalates as he grabs hold of her arms, with Alicia audibly telling him to release her. He then moves her toward a corner of the room, just behind a door and out of the camera’s view. Moments later, a loud noise is heard, followed by what sounds like Alicia in clear distress.
The arrest
Weeks after the May 9 incident, Big Tigger was taken into custody by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and charged with battery and third-degree cruelty to children. He was released after posting bond. The cruelty-to-children charge connects directly to Alicia’s subsequent court claim that the alleged assault occurred in front of at least one of their children, adding another serious legal dimension to the case.
A protective order granted
On Tuesday — days after the arrest — Alicia filed for an emergency protective order against her husband, which a court granted. In her filing, she alleged that the May altercation left her with a significant eye injury that required both a hospital visit and stitches. With the order now in place, the case is expected to continue working through the legal system in the weeks ahead.
Big Tigger has not publicly responded to the allegations.
