Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested and are currently being held in the US. Andrew and Tristan were arrested in Miami after the Crown Prosecution Service charged a total of 38 more charges against them (32 against Andrew and 6 against Tristan). All of these charges were connected to the alleged conduct that took place between 2010 and 2017. Andrew and Tristan are reportedly set to be extradited to the UK, a decision which has been tagged as ‘unfair’ by their lawyer, because they are in the middle of legal proceedings in Romania, and set to appear in Palm Beach for a trial.
YouTuber accused Andrew Tate of sexually assaulting her when she was drunk
Amid Andrew and Tristan’s arrest, their past has been hitting the headlines too, and one of them is YouTuber, Lauren Southern’s allegations from last year. For the unversed, Lauren accused Andrew of sexually assaulting her when she was intoxicated. Former alt-right figure and political commentator Lauren Southern, back in July 2025, shared the details about the encounter.
The disclosure of the alleged incident came through her Substack post, where she, back then, released free chapters about her then-upcoming memoir, This Is Not Real Life. In a chapter titled Confession, Lauren recounted her alleged encounter with Andrew. According to the same confession, Andrew carried her into his hotel room and asked her to sleep beside him. She revealed being heavily intoxicated, and this was one of the reasons that she began tired and said yes. As per Lauren, when she was sleeping beside Andrew, he kissed her unexpectedly, and it was not something that she was looking for, but she kissed him back.
In the chapter of her book, Lauren shared that Andrew wanted to take things further, but she continued to say ‘no’. Andrew allegedly went further anyway and continued strangling her as she was trying to pull the influencer off her. Lauren, in her confession, also shared that when she was trying to leave the hotel room in haste, Andrew warned her not to reveal the encounter to the press. An excerpt from Lauren’s chapter could be read as:
“He kissed me. I wasn’t expecting it, and I wasn’t looking for it, but I kissed him back briefly and then told him I wanted to sleep. I was extraordinarily tired. He wanted to go further. I said no, very clearly, multiple times, and tried to pull his hands off me. He put his arm around my neck and began strangling me unconscious. I tried to fight back. He repeatedly strangled me every time I regained enough consciousness to pull at his arms.”

For Lauren Southern, this incident, although it happened years ago, stayed like a hallucination. She later realized that she had been denying it to herself, and that it had only come to light when further media coverage of the charges against him began to emerge. In 2022, Andrew and his brother Tristen were arrested and stayed for 30 days in a Romanian prison. They were arrested on charges of rape, sexual assault, and human trafficking, among others.
It was only then that a few women, who were staff of the brother duo’s adult webcam business, broke their silence. The girls used to stay at the Tate brothers’ home in Bucharest, with all expenses borne by the influencers. However, while some of these girls were accusers, some of them revealed that they were not victims and countered that the brother duo never threatened or misbehaved with anyone. Tate brothers inked all the girls with terms like ‘property of Tate’ or ‘Tate Girl’, which, however, one of the girls said she did out of respect.
