Alexis should have thrown the case

Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

We know what Diane told Alexis she had to do, but didn’t you want her to go against all advice and just stick it to Willow right there in the courtroom? There are few soap moments like the one from One Life to Live in 1993 when Nora Gannon realized that Todd Manning did indeed rape Marty Saybrooke. She couldn’t stand to watch him go free, so she threw her case in closing arguments and told the jury exactly who Todd was. Wouldn’t it have been absolutely delicious to have Alexis do that to Willow? Drew would have lost his mind worse than he did last week. It’s one of those things we dream of as soap watchers, but alas, all we saw was a torn Alexis. She knew that she was doing the wrong thing and the right thing at the same time. But was it also a selfish thing? As Alexis pointed out, her granddaughter would now be raised by a would-be murderer who married her victim just to walk free. But she seemed to care more about losing her law license again. It just left a really bad taste in our mouths to see Alexis choose her career over doing what was right for Scout. Plus, if she threw her case at the last minute, it would have been fantastic soap opera. Perhaps Kai and Trina went to the wrong lawyer.
