Agent Kim Reactivated episode 4 recap: How Kim’s painful past and the mystery of Agent 66 began

Agent Kim Reactivated, episode 4, travels back to 1997 to reveal how Kim’s life changed forever. The story starts in a North Korean orphanage in North Hamgyong, where military people announce that the country’s best athletes will soon be chosen for a special team.
A hungry boy feels curious and asks if joining would guarantee enough food for the rest of his life. And once he receives that promise, he volunteers and even encourages other boys to do the same.
However, the recruitment is far from normal. These young children were forced into brutal hand-to-hand fights where only the strongest survive. Park Yeon-gwang is the last boy standing, while another boy named Kim barely survives after collapsing beside one of the soldiers.
Both Yeon-gwang and Kim were accepted and the two started ruthless training. Those who cannot keep up are executed, and surprise attacks are carried out even during the night to test their endurance.
Eventually, only a handful remain. Kim becomes Agent 73, while Yeon-Gwang is assigned the number 66. Now in the present timeline of Agent Kim Reactivated episode 4, the North Korean military believes Kim betrayed his country and caused Agent 66’s death during a mission in South Korea.
However, the truth looks far more complicated. This hidden history also explains why 66’s younger brother has been hunting Kim and refuses to acknowledge him as the real Agent 66.

Agent Kim Reactivated episode 4 recap: Golden Teeth’s revenge plan finally starts to make sense
Episode 4 of Agent Kim Reactivated also uncovers why Jun-dae, aka Golden Teeth hates Gang-chan so much. Around nine years back, Jun-dae worked as a cleaner at Midu Apartments.
One day, local residents started protesting a redevelopment project because workers like Jun-dae were not receiving fair wages. To remove obstacles standing in Gang-chan’s way, one of his men threw Jun-dae off the apartment building.
Luckily, Jun-dae survived but he sustained a lot of serious injuries. After he recovered completely, Jun-dae killed the man who pushed him and even gathered support from people and challenged Gang-chan directly.
But instead of winning, he suffered another crushing defeat. Gang-Chan stabbed him through the mouth, nearly leaving him unable to speak, and forced him to eat burning hot potatoes as a cruel lesson.
Since he endured so much pain, he lost many of his teeth, leading him to replace them with gold. This way, he gained the nickname Golden Teeth in Agent Kim Reactivated. Jun-dae was not able to take revenge and had to serve Gang-chan for years. But now, Jun-dae believes he has finally found a way to strike back by targeting Gang-chan through his daughter, Hye-ri.
Agent Kim Reactivated episode 4 ending explained: Kim races to rescue Min-Ji as shocking truths come to light

Following the previous episode of Agent Kim Reactivated, Agent 66’s younger brother corners Kim and points a gun at him. Han-Su buys Kim some time before Sang-a and Mr. Lim, the laundromat owner, arrive armed.
And then it’s revealed that both secretly work for the agency pursuing Kim over his alleged betrayal. Although they want him to surrender, Kim convinces them to wait until he finds his missing daughter, Min-Ji.
Kim, Han-su, Jin-cheol and the others trace Jun-dae’s vehicle, but they once again face a problem when Silent Cricket plants bombs near the road, leading Kim’s vehicle to overturn. While Han-su and Jin-cheol stay behind to deal with the threat, Kim escapes using Cricket’s vehicle after the tracking software finally identifies Jun-dae’s location.
Meanwhile, Agent 66’s brother locates Hye-ryeong’s discarded phone in episode 4 of Agent Kim Reactivated with the help of another child and a phone-tracking app. And as previously seen, Kim’s group had already questioned a homeless man who revealed that one of Jun-dae’s men had thrown the phone away, helping them connect the clues.
Before episode 4 ends, Kim reaches the place where Min-Ji was believed to have been abandoned. She didn’t die and regained consciousness alone in an unknown location. Kim then finds Jun-dae’s men and forces them to give information.
On the other side, Jun-dae blackmails Gang-chan using a recording that exposes Hye-Ri’s involvement in the supposed killing. Gang-chan then first slaps his daughter before calmly asking whether the girl truly died. In the final moments, Jun-Dae discovers that Min-Ji is still alive just as Gang-Chan arrives to inspect the supposed body.
This way, the episode ended on another major cliffhanger. Kim is racing to find his daughter before anyone else could reach her and hurt her.
