Matt Murdock’s new chapter in the MCU is already starting strong as Daredevil Born Again Season 2 has premiered with glowing reviews, getting fans’ praise and high numbers in ratings. The show currently has a 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is it’s strongest stance since the Netflix era. The show has surpassed the first season in numbers and is now the second-highest rated season of all time. The audience score is still pending, but looking at the reviews posted by fans, it shouldn’t be any less than that.
The first season of the show was a little complicated as Marvel had to do a complete creative overhaul mid-production because the original vision wasn’t landing. They salvaged what they could, but you could feel the seams where two different projects got stitched together and for most fans, it was messy.
But season 2 has changed that and without any mid-production disasters hanging over it, showrunner Dario Scardapane actually got to build something cohesive from the ground up, which shows in how fans ad critics are perceiving it.
According to early reviews, the show’s delivering on everything fans actually want: relentless action, real dramatic weight, complex characters, and legitimately shocking moments. If all of season 2 keeps up with this energy, it could change how Daredevil is perceived in the MCU. Plus, we’re finally getting Jessica Jones back, something fans have waited for long.
More details about Daredevil Born Again Season 2

The premiere is titled The Northern Star and we follow Matt Murdock infiltrating a cargo ship carrying military weapons heading to Mayor Fisk’s operation. Meanwhile, Karen Page is out here secretly working against Fisk too, and there is this whole CIA operative named Mr. Charles, played by Matthew Lillard, who’s too interested in international power plays than New York politics.
The cast this season is stacked. Charlie Cox is back as Daredevil, with Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, and Krysten Ritter returning as Jessica Jones. They are joined by Tony Dalton as Swordsman and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson.
A highlight this season is the new suit. It’s black with a red “double D” logo on the chest, which is finally the comics-accurate look people have wanted forever.
